T0nyGTSt
I have this old sedan. It has some problems... 1. the auto box is flaring. It's not 100% cactus. You get drive on the straight but you sometimes get nothing on corners. 2. it has a blown head gasket and I don't know how screwed the motor is. Otherwise it's ok - body is good, suspension fine. What is the cheapest way to get it going again? I personally like the VH45DE conversion but that sounds like $$$. I'd even go an SR20DET but I hate the way they sound. I suspect that the money to fix the head gasket could get up there so much that a new motor might be cheaper. Large
Have you checked the trans fluid? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/201229-what-to-do-with-my-piece-of-shit-r33-na-sedan/#findComment-3578093 Share on other sites
BLK33T
NA engine plus box should be cheap as ... call a couple of wreckers and ask about whilst the motor is out of the car give it a really good service i.e. timing belt, seals etc etc if you do most of the work yourself should be relatively cheap Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/201229-what-to-do-with-my-piece-of-shit-r33-na-sedan/#findComment-3578097 Share on other sites
T0nyGTSt
no i haven't checked the fluid - it never crossed my mind that the box was anything but stuffed but you're right - if it's holding every gear it might be just fluids Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/201229-what-to-do-with-my-piece-of-shit-r33-na-sedan/#findComment-3578105 Share on other sites
