hey have read the guide how to wire up the ballest resistor pack in an rb20 to run gtr injectors but i dont have the ballest resistor pack so i was wondering how i would go about wiring resistors up instead. could i wire a single 10 ohm resistor in series just after each injector plug and which cable would i do that there are two to each plug. If not would love to know how everyone has been wiring theres up, im after an easy way.

i havent tried this but was told that you would need like you said, 6 x 10ohm resistors on each of the injector signal lines. but i was also told by the person trying this that they were having trouble with the resistors constantly burning out.

I think the ballest resistor used in the r30 skylines can also be used in replacement of a gtr one. I personally just wired the resistors up inline when I had myn and never had an issue for like 8 months.

Providing the resistors are correct they should not burn out. So yeah you wire 6 of them up on the 12v live side of each injector only, the ecu then pulses ground signals to the injectors to fire them.

Personally if I had to do it again but I would probably try and source an r30 module, had I have known about them at the time.

Measure out each injector, i.e. RB20DET & RB26DETT injector. Now work out the Resistance of both, subtract the 2 and you should have a figure, that will be the resistor that you will need to use inline. Just rock up to Jaycar and they should be able to sort it out.

to work out what type of power dissipation the resistor needs to be rated at, just use P=VI, and substitute I for V/R which gives you

Power = voltage^2/R where voltage = ~13volts and R = resistance of the GT-R injector.

easy, I'm going to do this as well soon when I get my hands on GT-R injectors, Z32 AFm, and new remap....

IMO much neater than GT-R resistor pack
