coco69
brain fart? ============= rather than start a spam session and put ppl in the pit i will explain it in ur post... a brain fart is what is generally conceived in most ppls mind as a good idea... but often we find that this is incorrect and rather than stopping and thinking about what they are about to post they just wildly mash keys in an epileptic mannor which some how manage to resemble words and string together a somewhat half coherent sentence which neither adds to the original subject matter nor does it enhance our forum going precence and in fact makes us 10% dumber everytime we read it. -inark ============ Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/20147-before-u-have-a-brain-fart-and-start-hitting-the-keyboard-randomly-read-this/#findComment-430914 Share on other sites

skygal
Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and everything so far seems ok. There have been a couple of warm welcomes and it's been great. Although I have been subjected to anyone's rudeness, and therefore haven't seen it myself, I can't really empathize with you guys. I do think however that it's great that you guys are acknowledging that there is a problem and are trying to do something about it. Remember, admitting you have a problem is the first step (Gees that sounds like a line taken directly out of an A.A meeting!!!) But you have to remember that out of the number of ppl that have joined up to this forum there are bound to be a few spastics!! So TWO THUMBS UPS Inark!!! (by the way, I live in the suburb right next to you!!) funkymonkey
Keep it on topic guys. And try be a lil more sensitive to how others might feel about your comments, whether in jest or otherwise. (by the way, I live in the suburb right next to you!!) thanks for the input skygal its always welcome when its constructive which is what i want. I agree that there is bound to be the odd "idiot" but so long as people realise that just adding fuel to the fire and flaming them as much as they can isnt the best way to resolve things then it makes it easier to sort these issues out. the great people on this forum far out weigh the troublesome and this is the way i'd like it to stay. ApacheX
i think the problem has gotten better though, its been a while since i read a totally abusive post...but that could be coz the mods get to it before me Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/20147-before-u-have-a-brain-fart-and-start-hitting-the-keyboard-randomly-read-this/#findComment-454030 Share on other sites
coco69
hey nark, is it possible to make it in such a way that only certain members, (e.g. ones that have been registered long enough, or made enough posts.) are able to create new threads? i know on PF, i couldn't even post a reply to an item i wanted to buy until after 90 days after i registered... was irritating, but definately stopped my itchy fingers from spamming all the other threads about their prices. inark
probably but that would mean new ppl to the forums would not be able to post and i would prefer that they would be allowed to. In the for sale sections on most forums you find that there is a waiting period before you are allowed to post a new or even reply to a thread. ApacheX
doesn't SAU have something like that already? u gotta have like 10 posts or something before u can post something to sell? well tahts wat i have been told Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/20147-before-u-have-a-brain-fart-and-start-hitting-the-keyboard-randomly-read-this/#findComment-475048 Share on other sites
pushead
We should have a Elite Section. Like a second level? or maybe trusted members who have been active on the forums can create new threads? eg: 3 months probationary period who can only post in the for sale/wtb section then after that they can post?
