Eug
yeah, definitely not cheap - try having 4 sets of rims! tyres are definitely on my no expenses spared list though. one set for street, one set for motorkhanas, stockies for drag (which i just sold the other day) and a set of nismo lmgt4's which are somewhere on the atlantic. hello re55! scathing
one set for street, one set for motorkhanas, stockies for drag (which i just sold the other day) and a set of nismo lmgt4's which are somewhere on the atlantic. hello re55! Yeah, I've got 3 sets of rims (I don't drag). I've got a set of Nismo LM GT4s for circuit (<3 RE55s), my street tyres, and the stockies are wrapped in Nangkang NSII's. I was going to use these for the Circuit Club Nangkang Challenge (and for dori days) but I went to a skidpan day recently and didn't swap out my more expensive street tyres. I'm tempted to run the Nangkangs at Eastern Creek on Friday and seeing if I can run under 2 mins, actually. Eug
should we start an lmgt4 club? give the nankangs a go, it can't hurt. however i have found that only the more premium brand and model street tyres perform well at track days. even then they only last a few hot laps before you see your lap times getting worse and worse. i was paying around $250-300 per corner for some high end yokohamas that would last around 15-20,000km (street and track). money better spent on track rims with semi slicks. racsov500
most people think archerfeild is alot harder for a beginner over QR. probably because archy is really tight and technical whereas at qr you can just speed into a corner and wait for it to slide out and just try to hold it for the corner. non turbos struggle at QR though, mines screaming its tits off in 2nd but doesnt like 3rd. wish i had decent steer tyres though. GTS4WD
Whats the go with the white-ed out head lights? And can somone explain to me the electical tape X's on front and rear lights at track days?.. So as the glass is a little more resistent in case of a touch? baron25
pretty much, easier to clean up if it's all stuck together. Screamin' - do you use your 32 for dirt rally? screamin'
Yeah the tape on the headlights means when you do tap something the glass doesn't fall out onto the track. Also saves your lights from being broken by random stones. baron - yup, it's primarily a gravel rallycar. Still need to do a bit more work to make it hook up on the loose stuff, but it is a hell of a lot of fun! Eug
Id love to have a car like yours screamin! agreed, nothing like a dirty filthy thrash car for rallies and motorkhanas Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/201566-na-drifters/page/2/#findComment-3625503 Share on other sites
screamin'
agreed, nothing like a dirty filthy thrash car for rallies and motorkhanas It is a lot of fun. I keep the roadcar way too mint to drive on gravel roads or compete @ 100% so I had to get another one for that purpose. As far as gravel rallycars go it's in really quite mint condition! And yip, most weekends there is a sprint or hilclimb on. When they aren't on there is alway trackdays (like yesterday ) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/201566-na-drifters/page/2/#findComment-3629506 Share on other sites
