rang tempe tyres today. the person i spoke to seemed extremely lost in the head. at the end of it, he basically said "oh...we dont stock toyo tyres". wasnt helpful at all.

ozzytyres were abit better. they seemed to be alot more switched on than tempetyres. he didnt stock toyo's but could "get them in". but couldn't give me a quote.

australia's best are very cluey, could give me a quote on the spot for toyo's, only problem is they didnt have the tyre i wanted :D

i've found my tyre + wheel specialist now. and he has basically everything, if not can get them, and they are at unbeatable prices.

im getting a set of Toyo Trampio's R1-R rspec tyres. $1350 for 235/40/17 (front) and 255/40/17 (rears) and this price includes fitting, wheel balance and alignment + its going on fleet...so its not a cash deal.

quite a valid question here. id like to know myself!

Toyo have a genuine RSpec tyre called the R881, the R1R is a hyrbid RSpec and Road tyre so i only assume from the product line that the R1R will last longer than an average RSpec tyre. Probably equivalent, if not better, than the Falken Azenis RS.

so, i wouldnt be surprised if it lasted for 13-18,000 km's with a few trackday's thrown in.

heres the R881

I have just done the find some rear tyres on a buget thing in Syd & my take on things is this. If you buy Aus market tyres you pay big $$, where the Jap tyres that are imported are way less $$. When pricing it's some times hard to find dealer who has what you want in stock & will try to sell you something else so know what you want & ring round for stock before price.

Tempe are bad on phone due to volume work they do so you have to go there.

Ozzy are good with info & stock Yok's.

I wanted 901's 265/35/18 which where $350 each from St George but they only had 1 so I ended up with LM 701's $300 (same compound diff tread pattern 901). I so far have twice the grip of last tyres so I'm happy.
