Belt Noise With Air Con On

hey there, when i turn air con on in R32 GTR it starts to squeek heaps, as if you wet ya fan belt, exact same noise as that!

had a look and there seems to be a pulley right at bottom of the rb26 and its not spinning at all i think

Could be that the belt's loose. Try tightening it up.

Check the condition of the belt. Look for cracks and hard ribs. As previously mentioned, check the tension. On the longest section of the belt you should only just be able to turn it 90 degrees (sideways). There is a big washer on the front of the tensioner for the A/C belt so that wont turn, but check that the actual pulley is spinning.

mine does this squeak when i turn it off

but ive decided to live with it

even thos i would like to fix it

for gods sake fix loose belts

i had a loose alternator/clutch fan belt

did nothing about it for a week

was driving along

saw out of the corner of my eye car temp was on full H

pulled over and had to get the racv to tow it back to my house, the belt had slipped off, in turn wrapping itself around my power steering so i coudlnt steer properly. was extremly lucky to not have a bad accident
