Cejay, Do you want to invite the Supra boys, since this track day seems to be slow going to organise.

Is there going to be a small donation to SAU like last time?

I'd say first priority goes to skylines but if some supras want to attend as well, it would be a good idea.

I think if we're worried about numbers, that we take whatever we can get to make sure it goes ahead.

I say welcome the Supras and bring more fun and competition into the whole Supra vs Skyline day

Are you kidding me??

Obviously you dont know how much power there is available for a small outlay from Supra motors - 2JZ and 1JZGTE for example... We would be made to look like Volkswagen's compared to big hitter Supra's.

I think that Skylines only is a better idea.

Its not about what I "don't know" as I wasn't really bothered about the 'power' or how I looked when compared to a Supra - I was more talking about the fun in meet and greet, especially if we're planning a track day down the track.

I would rather invite others than not go ahead at all because we cannot get the required 10.

Ok, I would probably say skylines in first, then if we're short on numbers invite some supra guys. A club contribution of 5$ sounds reasonable to me. That would make it 55$ for a dyno run. That would include the supra guys paying as well. At the moment it looks like we have six or so. Will draw up a list later to see who's in and out and post it up.

I say bring on the supra boys!!! It would be great to see their faces when we just lapped 3 sec's faster than them at the track day, with "Dyno proven" half there horsepower, or even less in some cases (I.E. the Mighty Starlet, and No. I'm not joking, it's going to wakefield)

Besides that, it would be a good meet, greet, discuss(friendly arguments) before the track day itself

By the way put me down for a spot anyway, I'll pay and some one might have to take my car for me anyway if I cant get the time off, but I'm still getting the car done. :)

Hi all.

I was told about this thread and thought I would contribute a little.

ESP are our club sponsors and we held our first club event at their Queanbeyan shop. The boys at ESP know their 2J's and RB's so you would be in safe hands.

Yes they do have a new Dyno Dynamics 4WD dyno.

Have a look at our website at actsupraclub.com for a video of our dyno day. It will give you some idea of their setup.

Click on the multimedia tab on the left hand side and select the videos in order.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I'm sure we can help make up numbers should we be required. On any normal dyno day, the shop would expect up to around 20 cars.

so what??? if your that embarassed about your car's power with all the work you've done to it, then sell it and buy a VW. i'd love to see a couple of big supras get on the dyno, and i wouldn't care if they smashed all of us with their power figures... i'd love to get my brothers JZA70 on the dyno after all the work and effort and money that he has just spent. you dont want to see that?

if you recall at the last dyno day, only 50% of the cars that went on were skylines. i think that it is just stupid trying to keep it to just skylines, cause it'll never happen....

9. LadyBytes GTR?? (will put GTR in to make up the numbers if we need, but it was fairly average at my last one).

Can people please advise if they are in or out.

+ some supra people.

Im not embaressed, I just know that the Supra vs Skyline thing has been going around and if we were to do a Dyno Day with them we would lose...

P.S. At least I know for sure that mine will put down a great deal more kw than yours :D

Still need 10, so need more to come, even if they are non skylines. At the moment if its just around 10, not sure it'll take too long to run the day.

Happy to have an official time keeper or something :(

So you'd be more then happy to go on a track with supra's and win(overall), but if its a dyno day you'd rather not go or worse, not invite supra's because supra's will win(overall)? :(

I'm in. I can make it on the 8th but would prefer the 9th.

    • What HVAC actuator is under the steering wheel? Do you mean on the RHS of the centre console, immediately to the left of your shin? If so, then yes, it is probably that one, because that is the mode door actuator, and from what I know, it's still a pain in the arse to replace. I don't know about whole dash out, but you certainly have to rip into the centre console section. I don't know if it's covered in the workshop manual, as I haven't spent much time looking at those parts of it. (and by "the workshop manual, I mean the R32 GTR one, which is the most comprehensive one we have, and it should be similar enough between that and later cars to serve as a guide).
    • ...oops. forgot the TCU end...
    • No I got mine from a friend that had fabricated one … but I had to fit it to my setup which was a hks turbo setup. His was a Garrett -7. So one of my turbos was not a flange for one side … then I had a leak in the welds I had to find a weld shut … in the end the setup was decent priced but I spent a lot to get it fitted. A couple companies I checked would make it but you’re talking 7-9k aud with titanium. No joke mine was 6-7k even second hand after I had to fit it in Hong Kong … labour is expensive here.
    • I'd just like to restate that I don't think anyone here is actually hating I recently sold a car part to a guy who was building a forged auto R34, with MV stall and aiming at ~450kw. I told him that I'm him, from the future and to stop after it explodes once. I told him I knew he won't listen the first time, and that's fine. But if my predictions do come true - Change direction faster than I did. I also said it's probably no coincidence that the dyno plot of a reliable turbo engine starts to look a lot like a N/A motor. :p
    • Got just the wing painted and fitted up to the existing boot. Big visual change and about time after having a GTR wing sitting in the shed since 2018 Headed up to Mallala with a quick obligatory stop in at Boliver OTR Oil control mods seems to have worked. I checked the catch can after session 1 and there was a dribble of water/e85 with barely any oil in it. After session 2 and 3 there was almost nothing and I stopped checking after that. so either great success or catastrophic failure/block of the external breather The GTR wing made a noticeable difference in the 160-185km/h sweepers. It was a very hot day for the cars at over 33C but the previously done cooling upgrade/ducting/water sprayers meant I never saw over 60C intake, 105C water and 100C oil and temps would drop back down very quickly once I shut it down. AD09's are a decent tyre but certainly and expectedly a step down when compared the the CR-S/AR-1 I have had on the car for years of track days. The handling characteristics of my car which I often describe using the Tony Hawks Pro Skater balance mechanic where either side of the center is understeer/oversteer was much more pronounced with no "green/safe" zone in the middle. However, imo it steers well/easily during oversteer largely thanks to the custom ACOSTAL front end. Enjoy a loose lap POV with my mate giggling away as a passenger.   Group photo for Peer Pressure Racing made it back home and gave it a wash Overall a great success compared to my previous two track days where i cooked the Starlets motor and blew up the new diff in the R32
