Filter On Turbo

just getting my car back together and just want to know whether or not having the pod filter strapped straight onto the front of the compressor housing causes any problems.

not knowing anything about your car but will assume that it no longer runs AFM's and has an ECU which uses a MAP sensor instead?

If so, then there is nothing stopping you apart from the hot air as stated.

ah k car is as is now- TD06, 6boost mani, gate, EMS, everything is heat wrapped. just a radiator an cooler on front of car, hoping to get a vented bonnet soon and theres the stock cooler piping hole tryin to let cooler air in

Looks like it might melt a hole through when driving hard.

Gets very hot even above the standard exhaust manifold heat shield.

Clearance doesnt look like more than a few inches.

better than getting fog and debris damage.

see it on ppl's cars all the time... then when u look closer. u see fractures in the comp wheel. tsk tsk tsk..

redline filters no longer warrant their filters for turbo cars as they have seen a filter fitted like this melt and get sucked into the turbo. they actually payed for the cost of the engine and now don't want to know about turbos.

not saying it will happen to you, but it did happen.

ive changed it now anyways filter got in the way of otherstuff, i stuck a 90degree bend an some straight pipe in there to route it into the stock airbox position

Putting a pod on like that wouldnt it melt? Those turbos get fairly hot!
