Hi Guys

Well time has come to get new pads, and possibly new rotors, depending on how much these will machine up.

I have read the GUIDE on here, but still have no idea.

I would like a pad that is a street pad, i will not be doing any street work, needs to be clean, i hate cleaning my mags all day, and well priced.

Needs to have a good feel and not much fade.

When you recomend me a pad, can you give me a part number, as here in Tas, people have no clues.

ALSO what rotors whoudl i get for the front, RDA, what type and how much, DOes SAU get a discount anywhere?

QFM HPX. Good for 550 degrees, or the about the same performance as Bendix Ultimate, but the HPX's are virtually dust free, unlike most pads at this level of performance. They also have excellent pedal feel, and will be more than enough for a street car.

$75 per set. Your part number for the front is DB1170 (But if you can just double check this). Shipping to Tas $8.

SAU has a constant group buy on RDA rotors, checkout the group buy section. Or else if you get stuck PM me.

Cheers,

Greg

Can the brake pads be broght from a dealer in tas?

I have heard good things about TRW Lucas pads...they are apparently rated at about 100 degrees higher than the bendix ultimates (which are pretty ordinary and very dusty to me and also chew up rotors)...i'm not sure how dusty the Lucas pads are though but they are apparently alot kinder to rotors too...

Totally agree!!! The only reason I didn't suggest the Lucas was because he was chasing dust free pads, which the Lucas definately are not, and the HPX are only slightly less in performance, and pretty negligible for a road car.

Probably not. Did you need to put it on a motorpass or similar card did you? I'm an Australia wide distributor of QFM's performance pads, and most trade or dealer places that stock QFM don't do their performance pads.

Otherwise, as has been suggested, Lucas are only $60, but they are a fairly dusty pad.

Nothing that springs to mind without the usual rubbish... Plenty use Bendix Ultimate and are happy with them, but for the dollars there's plenty of much better pads out there.

You may be able to track down a set of Lucas Pads today, try ABS stores, and some of the larger parts places that aren't a supercheap/repco/autobarn...

Jetpilot1986...how dusty are the lucas pads? are they worse than the bendix ultimates?

Depends on the car, you hear about Ultimates ranging from a little bit of dust, to alot, whereas with the lucas, its consistently in the middle somewhere...

Lucas dusted to all hell for me. But they were an excellent street pad and I never got them to fade. Now that I've started doing track work and the Lucas ones were worn, I'm using Project Mu HC+ and they're excellent......
