Well done to Ferni who raised the bar today!!! PB of 1:48.9...

BBGTR and Ant have a task ahead of them tomorrow!!!

Good to meet Beer Baron and see his new track whore get punted around, even Bris had a go and was impressed considering it was on street tyres...

Well done Fernster, I had a little birdy talking to me throughout the day and was given the news.

I keep telling my wife that this is all a bit of fun, but these times are getting serious.

By the way, I have driven my car to work nearly every day since my engine rebuild

Looks funny getting out in a suit with the roll cage, get some weird looks.

went with ferni to this one yesterday..stole my PI virginity and it was awesome.

we were testing that RaceChrono software that you can get for N-series/S60 Symbian nokia phones and it was working a charm.

Best I did was a 2.04 that we got timed. The next session my mate in the S2k had it in his car and he did a 2.03, and i was in front of him..so i'd say we'd be very close to doing a 2.02/03.

Heaps of fun, look forward to more of it now.

good on ferni with the PB too..he was flying past most of his group!

heres a couple of photos i managed to get during the day.

nice to meet some you as well.

It was a good day. Damn hot though. I loved the punt in the S13. I can see why they are such a popular car as the thing was damn fun and i guess pretty quick considering it was on street tyres. My god it felt quick even though i was only rolling around

...And S2000, my god that thing is great under brakes for a std car on street tyres

Was a good day today, very hot and huge amounts of slow traffic in our group in the morning sessions.

Both Anthony and I had an incident free day, and both had PB's from what I can tell, the PIARC timing screwed up the last 3 sessions, so all I can see was a 1.48.8 for me and we think a 1.50 for Anthony.

Roll on March 29.

ps. Looking forward to seeing the video footage of today Anthony! :)

well I had a great weekend. The S13 ran nicely with no real problems apart from brakes which my chief mechanic brisby fixed in quick time. Full pad change and fluid bleed, and even caliper removal to try and fix a broken dust boot and we even mucked around trying different wheels on the car and accomplished it all without missing a session. Nice to meet Jack and Ferni, and thanks for your help too. Ferni was fairly hauling, and jacks car is even more impressive in real life. bear in mind I've had years of brisby talking it up too.

Phillip Island is an awesome track. I would have loved some passenger laps or at least a familiarisation session as I was lost! Lots of long, long corners that like to tighten up at the exit. Nothing really like that in the 3 NSW tracks. PI is a very different beast. But I just wanted to get out there and check it out. and considering I only bought the car 12 hours earlier, and only slept for 4 I was pretty happy. I will definitely be back again to have a proper effort. Big respect to the guys that are quick there. I'm a pretty average pilot but do 1:54s at eastern creek in my old banger 260kw GTR with rubbish tyres but I couldn't see myself doing 54s at PI any time soon... and I know most of you quick guys just about match EC and PI times.

As always troy was a champ. thanks mate, all the help is greatly appreciated, I would not have been anywhere near able to pull it off without your help mate.

here's a little pic for Jack and Andrew. lol. it looks like it's about to tip over!

Yep had a great day...was a little hot and due to grouping andrew and I got caught in a bit of traffic but none of that can distract from the fun :D

All in all the car felt a much better beast with a retune and rear toe set at 1mm instead of the 3mm I was running :O Most corners the car goes where I want it to go but there are still 3 I can think of where the car still wants to push wide. My lap timers recorded a mid 1:50 which I was wrapped with.....I was hoping that would result in a 1:49 on the offical results ;) but when BB and I checked them they appeared incorrect. I can only hope it was an error on the day and that when they are released they will be right.

As for the footage I'll try and get it off the camera over the w/e...bit shaky in parts but nice flamage from BB

BB you bastard, always gotta out do me the day after hey. haha, Well done.

How many cars were in the group Sunday? Saturday they had 25 cars per group! it was crazy. First session i was at the back and i spent the whole time overtaking multiple cars at a time. The Monash Freeway on a week morning has less traffic. But from then on i made sure i got out the front of the grid, and i got a couple of clean laps in before i caught the back of the group, then played the overtaking game again.

Ended up with a single 1.48.9 and a bunch of 1.49.0 and 1.49.1's.... Tyres are pretty stuffed now, new brakes are good, but i still get pad knock off... And still struggling with exit corner grip on the 2 sharp corners.

Most important me and the car drove home in one peice.

Was great to meet Richard (BeerBaron)... Very hardcore, flies down to melb, buys a car then drives straight to PI and gives it a good flogging haha... love it.

Ohh and a photo my mate took on Saturday....

Also well done to evade running a 2.04ish on his first time out in a pretty much stock S15, that's pretty good! And his mate in the Stock S2000 running about the same time... Glad to see you guys had fun and made it home in one piece.. unlike someone else i dragged to PI last time

The last PIARC Day Scotsman and I did had 24 cars per group. I think we only got about 4-5 clean laps for the whole day but it was still fun. Sometimes we had more fun starting at the back and seeing how many cars we could pass in a session than worrying about actual times.

That is a sensational photo - straight to the pool room.

We had 24 cars per group - 4 * Groups of 6. Our group was prob ok, but the other groups that went out with us were all over the place, so it was as snowy said, basically just overtaking for the first 3 sessions until the groups started to thin out.

Here is my data log for session 3. I have no idea what time we did after this as I didn't turn my logger on and the PIARC timing said I did a 1.40.XX three laps in a row

piarc_17-2-08.jpg

Hey BB - what's the max speed on your PFC read? The data logger shows 243, but i would think the PFC would be a bit higher than that?

Not sure, I only have the Water Temp and Knock on my display in the car when on the track. It wipes the max when I turn the car off.

In general the PFC reads about 3-5 k's higher on those freeway speed checks.

Hey, I got a photo sent to me just then - not as big a flame as yours though!!
