Recently brought one of these second hand for my 32GTR and am yet to install it but had hoped to keep my ARC airbox

and install the piping to it was wondering if anyone had managed this feat as a quick look has me thinking it wont work.

Kit came with Z32 sized filters but only one adapter plug so I suppose I could get another plug and run Z32's might eventually need to anyway

as am also installing 2530's so might be getting a bit much for stock AFM's

Also does anyone know if the NS-01 filter adapters would fit on the Airinx AY-SB filters as this may be a quick fix for my problem

would of liked to have kept my ARC Box though :)

Any one got a review of the Airinx filters or comparison test? Remember reading one a while ago that rated Apexi filter real high cant remember if Airinx ones were included in the comparison though?

this is the kit I am talking about

Its quality gear & quality costs

I doubt you could get piping fabbed up that would be cheaper and the pipes in this case appear to be cast not just welded tube

each to his own, I of course didnt buy new either.

Anyone confirm if the AFM swap is likely to be neccesary with HKS 2530's, if the stockers are likely to small I might have to bite the bullet and go Z32's

Just curious, but does it rub on the bonnet like the ones i have seen?

A friend of mine is pushing out 429rwkw on his 32 GTR with that suction kit and filter with no problems, so it can take big numbers, but if it was me id be swapping the filters for Apexi.

Okay for all those interested I can answer my own question regarding Trust Airinx filters

I was digging around trying to find some exhaust gaskets and stumbled upon an old Autosalon issue with a review of air filters

Airinx was pretty average flowing with pretty lousy filtration

Apexi flowed better but actually filters worse

Think I need to find some of the 3a Racing ones wich were the best flowing

and only bettered in filtration by the K&N ones, which being wet (oiled) filters makes em no good with Skyline Afm's

You can't go wrong with Trust, if you want apexi then just buy that one. Personaly i would go for the full hks kit takes care of everything you need. hks kit includes air induction to turbo, piping from turbo to intercooler, intercooler to plenum. Can't beat that. If you going to add 2530 Definitely get the z32 afm. I can post a pic of the trust kit on a 32gtr if you like. All jap brands fit like a glove and quality second to none. Do it right the first time and then forget about it.

snake oil my good man. a map sensor, quality filter, an airbox with a nice big 3''-4'' cai pipe will be just as good, and 'less' restrictive than a afm.

in the comparison test theres only apexi, hks, blitz and k&n and yeah apexi was the best

test is like ten years old and irrelevant, later tests have proved the opposite.... honestley the AIRINX dont filter the best but i havenever had a dusting issue ever... if you are after the best get some DRIFT brand filters... they kick ass over KN and all the jap brands and have been tested lately by both magazines and rival manufacturers.... i know this as there was going to be a lawsuit as drift claimed to flow % more than a big US manufacturer and they did the tests to sue under false advertising/slander.... needless to say the lawsuit kinda died a quiet death

All good URAS no biggy bout the plug

Yeah that online test is old as the hills

the autosalon one was issue 51 last year when they started building the drift car

suprised me as everyone raves bout the Apexi ones an they didnt test that good

    • This could be sold and shipped to the US for many gold pieces. RMS has no say in that. Ask various Western Sydney inhabitants how it works.
    • Ha ha ha, mine loves to spend, all on the dogs (they're our kids, and her spending would likely rival that of some people raising children!) the only benefit is, her spending is tax deductible as she runs a business in the dog industry 😛 The above all means she can spend race car budget quicker than I can. 😛 That and a lot of the things I want are very expensive, and I can be a bit "you want how much for that?!" And at other times overly impulsive. Or I start the w days of research, get to day 1.5 and get really annoyed that no one will advertise actual specifics and it's just marketting BS and I go "well, now I don't want anything to do with that now!" Also I hate paying lots of money for something I can make from $50 in materials. Then I get the shits halfway through making things and wonder why others who just buy parts have more fun... 😛
    • Their 240Z with the RB26 would be a real nice thing to have in a garage to come out for an occasional weekend cruise It's such a cool thing in so many ways Sadly, we have a blue 240Z shell that I walk past every day, just sitting outside a shed at work, it has been slowly disintegrating and falling apart into the ground for the last few years, the owner cannot be found, and I am unable to "claim it" I've been told by work and the RMS, the rust in the body is excessive though, and it has had most of the salvageable stuff, like panels, trim and switch gear stripped off it over the last year or two, work keeps threatening to put it in one of our metal scrap bins, I wish they did though, as it makes Mark sad walking past it
    • Good tips, I like it! 😂😂 My wife is a LOT more frugal than me so it's only me we need to worry about! A splurge to her is buying 2 pairs of socks in one visit at Kmart!
    • Haha, the appropriate response to the question "Is this new?" is "I've had this for a while.". With the unspoken small print that a while may be the time since this morning or five years ago   And to be fair I learned that from the best, i.e. my wife. Because it goes both ways.
