anyone out there know of or have a gtr oil cooler.

doing alot of track days and on the advice of a m8 (Paul) i need a oil cooler to prevent oil surge in my gtr... the cost of a gtr engine rebuild is crazy so this would be some cheap insurance.

from my searching the go is a 29*27 cm core= 390

conectors and hoses are about 150. plus mounting

(artarmond radiators)

does anyone know a better deal

all help would be greatly appreciated

pete

Hate to disappoint you, but what you need to stop surge is a baffle plate or windage tray. Bolts in the sump and stops the oil surging up the wall of the block and away from the pickup on long corners.

An oil cooler is a very good idea but all it does is that, ie. cool oil.

Baffled sumps are probably not available and if they are, due to the very low demand, are going to be expensive.

Best bet is to have some baffles made up. A good engine builder should know someone who will do it.

Problem with the RB engines is the crank cradle, it will somewhat get in the way of a good baffle.

You could just have a false sump floor put in, with holes to allow drainback, but if you are going to the effort, get a proper crank scraper made up.

Regards, Andrew.

Trust sell a sump upgrade kit for the RB26.It contains a larger

sump bottom which is welded to the sump after the original base

has been cut off.It increases the capacity and also lowers the pickup so you have more oil to play with. There is a round baffle

which the pickup goes into which stops the pickup from sucking air

Adelaide Engine Developments modified mine & they have since come up with their own version which they said is even better.

For the drags the oil cooler is not needed but for hard street use or at the track it is a must.

Call Darren at AED on 0882618813 if interested.I daresay he would only look at modifying a sump if he was doing a complete

engine build but it wont hurt to ask him.
