on a budget go FUSION or something of the like, id go with components up front, and stick with 6 1/2" co-axils (2 or 3 way ones) in the rear as opposed to 6x9s as u have to cut into the back tray to fit them unless u put spacers in which look gay. I say keep it stock looking then theres less chance of any f$%kwits trying to steal them.

Go to my page and see what mine look like, looking at them through the window or even from inside they look factory + they go hard as hell and keep up excellently with the 15"s

im not sure if ive got photos of the cabin up, i cant remember, but ill take some tomorrow and post them then.

Good Luck.

No offence Crazyfcuk but Fusion splits suck ass. Their subs and amps are ok, but still Fusion is not the best quality stuff out there. Looks great though, and you're obviously happy with your install so that's all that matters.

As for good budget splits, i suggest you look at some Hertz splits. They're FANTASTIC value. Jaycar also have pretty good splits beleive it or not. They're made by the same company that makes Focals i think - or some other really expensive brand - so there you go. Also i suggest you get a amp to run them it'll make them sound alot better. 4x50wrms should be enough - there's a heap of them going around for a cheap price lately. Stay away from Sony & Kenwood. They're OK - but i shall refer to them as Ricers - All show - no go.

Hope that helps you a little. Just have a listen to the splits on a board before you buy. You don't sound like you're too fussed - so perhaps some Pioneers or something will do you. They'll definately be loud if that's what you're after - but as i said. Get a 4x50wrms Amp. It'll make things alot better. A deck says 4x50w but it's actually putting out between 3 and 5w rms which is **** all. Therfore even a cheap 4x50wrms amplifier is a BIG improvement over the decks output

Cheers

whats up with the roof racks?? :D

oh and whats that thing on ur windscreen??

whats it do?

Roof Racks = I go snowboarding everyother day that im not working, and its about a four hour drive. Basically one board doesnt fit in my car and when theres 4 of us going to the mountain, we other wise wouldnt be able to go so I had to get racks. They can be removed, but i dont see any reason to bother as they get used frequently.

Tint strip on the window = i drive to and from work everyday looking into the sun, and my line didnt come with any thing on the top part of the window to stop sunstrike (like the blue strip that is built into most windows) so when i got the rest of my car tinted i asked them to do that as well, and viola no more problems.

I agree with ya on the fact that fusion stuff is not the best quality stuff, having blown up 9 12" USA spec Fusion subs, 5 fpx1000 amps, and 2 15" powerplant subs, and a cooked cap. Not to mention a headunit that i fried in my boat (ity seems that headunits dont like salt water???), I can say that pretty honestly.

But I have had everysingle product that i have either cooked or fried replaced with a brand new one, and as far as im concerned i dont really give a f**k about the fact that they have all blown as ive got replacements everytime. I brought one of the first subs and amps that fusion ever sold worldwide, and YES they were s**t but the gear has come along leaps in bounds in the last year or so since they have released there new range of products.

But for the price that you are paying for them, they will keep up with anything else on the market. I know that focal and all the rest of them probably sound slightly better but for the extra $500 odd dollars that id be paying for them id certainly hope that they would.

Also the majority of the cars running in the car audio circuit in NZ use Fusion gear not only the SPL ones but also the SQ cars as well, including the 3 loudest cars in NZ. (MAD SOUNDZ CARS)

Ive been hit by the fusion bug i guess, kinda like most of us with skylines, once youve had a taste of it, its all you ever want.

Fusion have looked after me extremly well and i will continue to use there stuff for the forseeable future, well at least until i win lotto anyway.

but yea no offence taken as i know that there is better stuff out there, but I like it and it sound/looks as good as i could ever want.

    • I've done a few BMS systems. Code in Canada use to force us to have any safety components outside of the PLC but with a code change back in 2018 I believe it was, we can now use safety PLC's to control everything. Sadly to your point, AB Guardlogix safety instructions for example are only available in ladder.  Machine safety is a very big thing here though, you're constantly forced to migrate to the next best thing by OSHA. I honestly prefer safety plc's, including anything from AB more then I do working with old school safety monitoring relays. PLC is only one portion of it, the rest of the electrical still has to follow to meet SIL (Mechanically linked dual contacts, bla bla)  Now tell me how to feel about safety over comm's (e.g Ethernet/IP CIP) on a unmaintained network haha
    • To your point, boolean logic. We're not only working with bools in ecu's, so it's very limiting. I wanted to setup a low WMI pressure alarm. After 1 second I want WMI line to hit 100PSI, 2 seconds 175PSI, etc. and trigger an alarm if it doesn't meet those thresholds. This would of taken me one very short line of text, but instead I had to bugger around with generic timers, conditions, etc. and so forth.
    • I much prefer that to an actual oil pressure issue, never would of thought it would of been a volt drop issue but SAU brains win again. Guess ill be turning down the oil pressure limit for the track and hunting some grounds. Ill hopefully update this thread with some high oil pressure and solid ecu voltage logs.
    • You've just discovered a really good reason to tell yourself, yes, I do need to buy an aftermarket ECU. Put the MAF in the bin. Slap in the new ECU and have a think about what turbo sounds you prefer.  Do you want a 90's style BOV wooosh? Do you want a hektik tsututututu?  Mate, can't go wrong. Just gotta get that ECU and the world is your oyster.
    • Hi. Iam just curisou about this topic. I saw this video. It is about Greddy Type FV2. I know that BoVs are about that sound but how and when to use it? I read some topic here and from what i have understand on stock RB with MAF there will be some "problems" if you use this BoV? It vents the air in to the atmosphere and the MAF on stock car needs this air back in to the intake and not out? Or is it wrong? If so...i saw you can put some adaptor to circule air back...but does that not "loose" that sound? I saw another BoV from Turbosmart and it has two "exhaust" like ports? One is for the stock tubing for letting air back and one is for "sound" and let the air in the atmosphere? Can someone please explain? This is the Greddy one:  And this is the Turbosmart.     THANK YOU!! EDIT: So i read about this topic some more and i if i understand that correctly: That Greddy can function either like BoV or 100% Bypass valve? And that Turbosmart is what they called hybrid so you can adjust what and how many air can be vented out or back in? Is this right? THX!
