now to the people who didnt have smart arse comments...

Dale u legend mate i appreciate the comment :)

StageaNut yes its got lsd, its a gtr rear end but who know the condition of the lsd, it was from a r32 gtr, getting old these days.

Thanks Ken, ill be taking it to the drags/track very soon as well, see what it can do.

Benm its got a hks t04z turbo

hey brad let us know when you run it down the quarter be good to come down and see it go AGAIN. i had the advantage of watching jaws hit the floor when an unsuspecting wagon lights it up on the supercruise good to talk to you on saturday and find out a bit more now just for the aesthetics of the car. once again sick car

GAH!!!! that sounds awesome!!!

Nice job with the whole setup, brad, very impressive. I like the way youve refrained (probably was an effort) from going crazy with the body mods. Looks excellent and sneaky.

Definitely love to see some on tarmac - but impressed at the tyre smoke coming off the grass!!!

Cant wait to get mine! 5spd FTW....

hahaha... pity you didnt get a video of it spinning the entire length of the drag strip, i'm sure that would shut up a certain "prime edition bayside blue blah blah blah stagea" owner...

i've been for a ride in this thing, and i can guarantee it will throw you into the back of the wagon if you're not careful.

Hey John - how about a nice big steaming mug of shut the f**k up?

If you don't want to see a stagea ripping 'nuts in the dirt, here's a revolutionary idea - DONT CLICK THE f**kING LINK!!!!

Jesus H Christ I get sick of the keyboard warriors here. All of the content may not appeal to all the people here, but do you really have to start up with shit like this?

Looks like an absolute hoot Brad. Keep up the good work champ :)

Awww Dale..... is that the best you can do?...... I clicked on the link because I thought that after spending so much money and time on a car that I was going to see something outstanding..... not something that me and my mates used to do 30 years ago in a 50hp Ford Anglia..... I just said it the way it is..... lame (for 500hp RWD)!! BTW Hoon has an "N" in it not a "T"! :laughing-smiley-014: If you post it up to the world..... expect all types of comments..... if you only want people to send you accolades.... then get a fan club!

At least I have a 1/4 mile time.... haha

And I don't pretend that my car is anything that it isn't..... I wouldn't call it a beast.... and beauty as they say is in the eyes of the beholder. But you chose to do the do-nuts and to post the video!!

Oh and Don't hold back Brad....... say what you think..... isn't that what forums are for!!

Yeah pity.... now maybe that could have been worth seeing....even better, go to Wanneroo and post a 58 sec full lap.... now that would impress.

And you know Mitch.... if you don't like the open comments on here there is one thing for you too..... www.VR4.COM.au..... go and prove something among other Legnums, if you think that you can....

let me just say theres always one in every group no matter what car u buy :)

enough of the arguments, ill say i do what i want with my own car, i wont post any vids until i pm them to John first for permission to show anyone else incase they are not good enough. Now i know why i havent posted any info/pics/etc about my car for the last 12-18 months.

Drags will be very very soon Daniel, ill let u know for sure.

*eyebrows up*

I mustve missed some background here. Bit of built up angst.

Different horses for courses. Id rather look at johns car, but i'd rather own brads :-)

unfortunately it's true...

i'm definately up for seeing it on the strip, the legnum got enough looks doing a 14.2, would be great to see people's reactions to a 10 sec stag!

might have to visit rellies in perth as an excuse to use some of the missus' flybuys and get over there at some stage. there are NO stageas within 50km of here, i never see them, let alone 500hp ones. Or pretty blue ones.

Hey Brad.... that's a little nicer.... I have nothing against you or your car, Let us all know when you are going to drag it..... I'll come to cheer you on, and take some video!!.

You know what my point was, I really didn't expect it raise such a furore. I wasn't knocking your car, but couldn't see the reason why you wanted to show it off (to the world) in the dirt!

Each to their own. It wasn't a personal attack..... I'm still happy with my (ordinary) 1/4 mile time, and I wouldn't dream of trying to improve it because (as you know) it's a very expensive excercise. I bought a family wagon that looked good was safe and was a bit of fun. That's really it. Sorry it touched such a raw nerve.

Group hug...

Im sure the car will end up on tarmac letting loose with shenanigans (is there an actualy way to spell that...?) soon enough and it will be akin to the second coming of god etc etc

lets see a vid of THAT

yer ok point taken mate i did a motorkana and that was some footage of it, no more no less, ill get skid videos on the road dont u worry :) Its the first time ive drivin the car in 12 months on those videos so i dont have time to go doing 1/4 mile times and track work until now, but i still got a few things i need before i hit the track (oil cooler, oil temp gauge, etc).

It wont run a 10 as it is, its only on 520hp, 11s are possible, but only time will tell, i dont claim anything about my car until it happens anymore, i want a 10 out of it, but thats a long way off yet, plenty to do before i turn the boost up and put some race fuel in. I built to enjoy it and i had a ball on the grass, all legal and no harm to the driveline/car, win win i reckon.

if they let me on the ahg day ill rip a real skid

i know you wont stop until you have a 10.

it's great you have it at a reliable stage now, and the hard work has paid off.

it's definately not as easy, but ALOT more rewarding than being a cheque book modifier! :)

    • Update 3: Hi all It's been a while. Quite a lot of things happened in the meantime, among other things the car is (almost) back together and ready to be started again. Things that I fixed or changed: Full turbo removal, fitting back the OEM turbo oil hardlines. Had to do quite a bit of research and parts shopping to get every last piece that I need and make it work with the GT2860 turbos, but it does work and is not hard to do. Proves that the previous owner(s) just did not want to. While I was there I set the preload for the wastegates to 0,9bar to hopefully make it easier for the tuner to hit the 370hp I need for the legal inspections that will follow later on. Boost can always go up if necessary. Fitted a AN10 line from the catch can to the intake hose to make the catchcan and hopefully the cam covers a slight vacuum to have less restrictive oil returns from the head and not have mud build up as harshly in the lines and catch can. Removed the entire front interior just shy of the dashboard itself to clean up some of the absolutely horrendous wiring, (hopefully) fix the bumpy tacho and put in LED bulbs while I was there. Also put in bulbs where there was none before, like the airbag one. I also used that chance to remove the LED rpm gauge on the steering column, which was also wired in absolute horror show fashion. Moved the 4in1 Prosport gauge from sitting in front of the OEM oil pressure gauge to the center console vents, I used a 3D printed vent piece to hold that gauge there. The HKB steering wheel boss was likely on incorrectly as I sometimes noticed the indicator reset being uneven for left vs. right. In the meantime also installed an airbag delete resistor, as one should. Installed Cube Speed premium short shifter. Feels pretty nice, hope it'll work great too when I actually get to drive. Also put on a fancy Dragon Ball shift knob, cause why not. My buddy was kind enough to weld the rust hole in the back, it was basically rusted through in the lowermost corner of the passenger side trunk area where the wheel arch, trunk panel and rear quarter all meet. Obviously there is still a lot of crustiness in various areas but as long as it's not rusted out I'll just treat and isolate the corrosion and pretend it's not there. Also had to put down a new ground wire for the rear subframe as the original one was BARELY there. Probably a bit controversial depending on who you ask about this... but I ended up just covering the crack in the side of the engine block, the one above the oil feed, with JB Weld. I used a generous amount and roughed up the whole area with a Dremel before, so I hope this will hold the coolant where it should be for the foreseeable future. Did a cam cover gasket job as the half moons were a bit leaky, and there too one could see the people who worked on this car before me were absolute tools. The same half moons were probably used like 3 times without even cleaning the old RTV off. Dremeled out the inside of the flange where the turbine housing mates onto the exhaust manifolds so the diameter matches, as the OEM exhaust manifolds are even narrower than the turbine housings as we all know. Even if this doesn't do much, I had them out anyways, so can't harm. Ideally one would port-match both the turbo and the manifold to the gasket size but I really didn't feel up to disassembling the turbine housings. Wrapped turbo outlet dumps in heat wrap band. Will do the frontpipe again as well as now the oil leak which promted me to tear apart half the engine in the first place is hopefully fixed. Fitted an ATI super damper to get rid of the worn old harmonic balancer. Surely one of the easiest and most worth to do mods. But torquing that ARP bolt to spec was a bitch without being able to lock the flywheel. Did some minor adjustments in the ECU tables to change some things I didn't like, like the launch control that was ALWAYS active. Treated rusty spots and surface corrosion on places I could get to and on many spots under the car, not pretty or ideal but good enough for now. Removed the N1 rear spats and the carbon surrounding for the tailpipe to put them back on with new adhesive as the old one was lifting in many spots, not pretty. Took out the passenger rear lamp housing... what do you know. Amateur work screwed me again here as they were glued in hard and removing it took a lot of force, so I broke one of the housing bolts off. And when removing the adhesive from the chassis the paint came right off too. Thankfully all the damaged area won't be visible later, but whoever did the very limited bodywork on this car needs to have their limbs chopped off piece by piece.   Quite a list if I do say so myself, but a lot of time was spent just discovering new shit that is wrong with the car and finding a solution or parts to fix it. My last problem that I now have the headache of dealing with is that the exhaust studs on the turbo outlets are M10x1.25 threaded, but the previous owner already put on regular M10 nuts so the threads are... weird. I only found this out the hard way. So now I will just try if I can in any way fit the front pipe regardless, if not I'll have to redo the studs with the turbos installed. Lesson learned for the future: Redo ALL studs you put your hands on, especially if they are old and the previous owners were inept maniacs. Thanks for reading if you did, will update when the engine runs again. Hope nothing breaks or leaks and I can do a test drive.
    • No those pads are DBA too  but they have colors too. I look at the and imo the green "street" are the best.
    • I’m not sure what happened I told them about sonic tunes free OTS tune and the next the I know .. I was booted..   To funny
    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
