He also lightens cast flywheels and with 4000lbs clamping pressure, which is what I read, you're asking for an amputation.

Only if you get a stock flywheel lightened (which i'd never do after mine almost amputated me a year ago).

you made me lol

I figure why spend $2k for a Nismo clutch when I can get a nice feeling clutch from a local supplier that will hold the same power for half the price, keep lol'ing.

hehe sorry i wasnt laughing at ur recommendation

just sounded funny when u said 'from personal experience but you haven't used it b4'

and yes, nismo twin plate coppermix comes with lightened flywheel (as a kit)

which is beautiful in traffic

asked a mate who has used both, and apparently the comp version is just heavier thats all. so STD one would be fine for day to day duties with thrashing here andf there

comp one basically will handle everything you throw at it, the one i drove was the comp version and seemed awesome! lot more driveable and lighter peddle then my GTR exedy sport ceramic 5 puck

Cheers for that Simon...I thought that was the case.

I think I'll go for a STD unit as long as you reckon it will handle the occasional side step of the clutch at high rpm........I need it to be good in heavy traffic but it also needs to bite when the odd occasion comes along.

speak to Mark from fuel automotive on 0432185450.

Tell him Shaun sent you and the price you have been quoted and i guarantee he will beat it if he has time to do it.

Thanks Shaun.

have you spoke to morpowa up north. they are installing my clutch

No I haven't yet.

Do you mind me asking how much they're charging.....just PM me if you don't want to make it public, thanks.

Got a phone call today from Jim Berry after leaving a message on his phone a couple of weeks ago (when this thread first started).

He rang my mobile from QLD and stayed on the phone for 1hr 26 minutes.........he likes a chat and is a terrific guy in his 60's that knows his product inside out.

As it turns out, it wasn't until near the end of our conversation that I realized he was an old customer of mine from Adelaide Engine Service days when he used to go by Italia Spares.

I learnt today that the R34 GTR's have a twin mass flywheel (2 piece with bearings and separate face & hub) like some European sports cars which means no maching and if it's worn you chuck it.
