I say spend your money elsewhere...

I seriously never did understand how someone can willingly put that amount of money into rims, when they do the same thing the previous ones did...

rims are the ultimate in rice and waste of money...

That coming from some who has a showcar avatar in his sig? :P:)

P/s: I hate butts and tri spoke rims.

6-7kg vs 20kg per rim, quality of finish and quality of materials--- its got nothing to do with rice or wasting money.

I have valid points for all of you, but it's nearly quittin' time :)

I dunno, maybe it's cause I got 4 rims that weigh about 9 - 10 kilos each for $700...

I just find it really hard to justify spending any large quantity of money on bits of metal (I'm an accountant), when you already have other bits of metal doing the same thing... If you are racing or drifting then I have no problem with it though :P

No hard feelings to anyone :) Just my2c that seem to be suffering from inflation rates...

People regard titanium as being some sort of brilliant material. It is not necesarilly that good. Its best properties aren't so much its strength per se, but its corrosion resistance, toughness & high temperature strength. Most of the titanium mined in Australia is turned into white powder, not alloy.

In any case I think you will find that the rims are aluminium and simply coated in Titanium which give them the rainbow effect. There is no reason for them to be any heavier, stronger, weaker or substantially different than any other Volk rim.

From memeory the proper Rays rims are titanium outers with alloy centers, no coating on the rim.

Im not saying its the best meterial out there, i was just correcting miss information.

Haha utimate in rice haha . . .

I dont understand how you can say rims are a waste of money :( By the look of your sig you have wasted more money than most people ever will on a car (if it is your car)

Alot of people will buy things they dont need coz they can, like those rays rims im not worried bout the price i just dont want to wait so long for them . . I could order them and then go buy some 20s from tech 9 to use while i wait if i wanted to. .

Rims will make or break the car. . . My car still looks standard and with a good set of rims and coilovers it will look totally different.

Oh yeah, I have wasted tonnes of money :) It makes me happy :)

But rims, I never did understand... the car comes with rims, and the others are just going to be rolling at the same rate... at best, they will be wider, look better and be lighter... no more...

And why wouldn't you believe it's my car??? :(

right, but that's sweet f**k all for the $$$...

Unless you need them (more grip, bigger breaks etc) RIMS ARE RICE...

I don't know why people don't agree with this... people are buying rims cause "Rims will make or break the car. . . "

My car still looks standard and with a good set of rims and coilovers it will look totally different

Now, buying something for how it looks... I'm pretty sure that is just about the definition of rice :(

So then by you this is rice. . . Rims, bodykit, spoiler, custom paint and graphics, neons, re trimming the interior, detailing the engine bay etc, etc. . .

Most of that is all for looks then?

Im guessing you like rice yes?

Im not having a go at you im just asking btw. .

I guess i like rice too haha

Pretty much, unless they serve a more important reason then looking good...

However... the term rice is only pertaining to goods, not services... so you can't consider cleaning or detailing to be 'rice'...

Also, there is a rice to power ratio :( It would be hard to rice up a bugatti veyron to a point where you look at it, and just think... rice...

But something like a Hyundai Excel... little bit easier :)

lol, no need to name calling...

you can get a set of good j-spec branded rims for under $1000 and weight 6-7kg each. if you know where to look its very easy to get a good deal and not pay 4k for a set of rims.
