passin ewe
I'm looking to source the rubber seal that seals between the drivers window and the small rear window on the C210 78 coupe or a substitute idea that someone may have done, a certain type of strip maybe. All ideas will be valued .Cheers Ricky Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/203278-c210-rubber-bits/ Share on other sites

coupe72001
I'll have a rummage around and see if I can't find something for you. Failing that you can try Clark Rubber. They have an amazing selection of rubbery bits. Drew Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/203278-c210-rubber-bits/#findComment-3606480 Share on other sites

They list the type of strip I'm after but it's for the 240K, so whether these are similar, I'm not sure. I've sent them an email. I've handed my car over to some auto pros, had enough of stuffin around so it should finally be runnin in about 6 days ,all going well. Do you know of any other transplants that have been done to C210's other than L series conversions, such as V6 or Rb's? warps
I know on the C110 you can use the seal out of a Mitsubishi Scorpion - same profile apparently (slightly different length). Don't know whether this translates to the C210 tho. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/203278-c210-rubber-bits/#findComment-3606756 Share on other sites

coupe72001
Hey Ricky, I'm hitting the workshop today so I'll let you know what I've found to suit tonight. I know of a few swaps into C210's. V8 Skyline Man was running a... well you can probably guess, until someone hit his car, and another guy I know in Tasmania is selling off his Rb20 C210 sedan to fund an Rb26 C210 coupe project! I'm staying old-school though, and am building up a warm L28, as do most of the the guys with C210s and 240ks in my Japanese "Enjoy Retro Car" magazine have. If you want to read up on bizzaro engine transplants into 240z's and the like I'd head over to the hybridz website. passin ewe
Cheers Drew, yea my last c210 ran a L28, wild cam, some tuned length jap extractors and triple 45 webbers. It went very very hard. My mate has all of this now and has had it sitting for about 2 years, but will not part with it even when I waved $6000 under his nose.Never mind I'll see how the 260 goes and if not happy I'll look at something with efi. What type of V8 did Skylineman run? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/203278-c210-rubber-bits/#findComment-3607382 Share on other sites
coupe72001
Hi, I checked the wreck at the workshop and couldn't find the the rubber strip you need (or any sign of the windows either!) Another friend who has a coupe must have poached it already! Sorry about that. I'd seriously take a chunk of the old strip into Clark Rubber and try to find a match. Mr Skyline was running a 253 from memory. You can do a search and read some of his old posts relating to the car. Also what kind of friend want sell you back your own car for $6G??? That's an amazing amount of money for a C210, the thing must be absolutely wild. Try and get a picture or two up for me if you can. Cheers, D Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/203278-c210-rubber-bits/#findComment-3607973 Share on other sites
passin ewe
There's no car, wer'e talking just motor, webbers extractors. But to replace this taking into account the rebuild and this engine has the best of everything I'd be looking at $5000 or more, so Ireally beiieve the package was worth that sought of money. Triple 45's about $2000 or more new and the extractors are rare, what those are worth I've no idea. coupe72001
I've been looking around for triples and your damn right they don't come cheap. So I guess a full rebuild with all the good bits can really add up. I really wanted a nice Kameari 3.2L Crankshaft for my L28, but they go for US$5,000 alone, so I see your point. Hey Drew. been to see how my cars gettin on, basically it's not. They haven't started on it yet, promises promises. To top it off he's asking where the electric fuel pump and reg are? I informed him that I wanted to try without first, believing the machanical will suffice. He doesn't agree. In case he's right what elec pump are you running and how many gph does it pump. I was looking at a Facet 2-4.5 psi and it pumps 30 gph which the mechanic thinks is'nt enough. He's talking holley blue, 90 gph wtf. It aint a dragster.Your thoughts will be valued being as your running the same set up. Then I can tell him that I know someone....rah rah.... Do you ever have starvation probs when giving it some and some more? Ricky. I tried to put some pics up but again failed. coupe72001
Hey mate, Most of my mates are running Japanese Toiko pumps, and mines a Pierburg. Its nothing fancy and the car is not starving for fuel. I don't know the psi or gph unfortunately. If I can find the box it came in Ill let you know though. coupe72001
Ok, found the box. It's a universal inline Pierburg 12V, 3.9 - 5.5 PSI, model FPX030, and its about $150 from http://www.injectacarb.com.au/fuel-pumps-c-33.html There's a higher PSI model for the same price, but I don't see why you'd need it. D Thanks D, Ive sent them an email asking what volume these pump. I spoke to a European car mechanic who deals mostly with jags and he reckons I'd be pushing it using more than 3.5 psi on my S.U's. So you see everyones got different opinions. I found a Facet 3.0 - 4.0 psi 120L per hour today at my local Repco for $100. If injectorcarb email me back with similar volume I'll purchase this pump.
