I know there is probably more HICAS related threads in here than anything else but I think I have come up with a new problem.

My HICAS light comes on only at certain times. It will come on only if I am sitting steady on a decent speed (around 100km/hr or so) it will come on within half an hour of coasting at this speed (highway).

I could drive around non stop all day at 50/60km and it would never happen.

Anyone ever experienced this?

Cheers...

No you haven't :) It only activates above 50-60 i believe. Somethings wrong and its deciding to come on then. Hit the search button like a naughty nine year old. PS fluid level, after market s.wheel?

Tried HICAS diagnostic mode? There is a sticky post under DIY which will explain how to get in there.

In my case, I couldn't get into the diags because the steering sensor was broken - and the diagnostic process needs a functional steering sensor (grr). Took the steering column apart, cleaned everything, popped the loose parts back together .. and I can access the diags now.

As an added bonus, my HICAS light no longer comes on randomly :)
