ive noticed the past week that my rb25 has started smoking only when i first got on it and let off at high revs and in between shifts...its not much smoke at all but its still there....i noticed on the pcv valve that it looked like it had some oil on it but i didnt think much of it and it rattled and had a good vacuum on it but when i pulled it off the other end there was oil all in the vacuum line and on the metal line going to the intake (more than usual)...im pretty positive thats what is causing my smoking problem i just wanted to see what you guys thought it might be. Also my turbo whines really loudly idk if that means anything but someone told me its the blades slightly rubbing againts the turbo housing's.

Thanks

Try degreasing around the valve, and then drive around a bit. Come back and look at the valve, and if there is oil leaking from it, thats where your problem is. As for the turbo, take your intake piping off to expose your compressor wheel. Put your finger on the middle bearing and move it around. If the wheel wobbles, even slightly, it can be hitting the side walls and be in need of a build up.

Well i cleaned the pcvv itself last night and drove it today and my brother who had seen the smoke before said he didnt see it anymore and that all he saw was carbon smoke. We also recorded it and i didnt see anything come out so maybe i had a plugged pcv. Im still up for any other possibilities it might be. Im going to be building the bottom end soon but not this soon so hopefully it will last till then if it is. Im gonna be checking the turbo here in a little while. Thanks

ok so i checked the shaftplay and it is pretty significant but im not sure if its really taht bad but anyways i went and made up an oil catch can to see if i am getting to much blow by in the cc...but this next video is a good representation of what my car is doing...theres no oil in the catch can yet and its still smoking....and i also have oil in my intercooler.

first pics:

this is the INTAKE PIPE right before the throttle body

and a pic through the throttle body.

and here is the video i just made...it was cold outside so thats what the white smoke is from but just watch as we rev it and when it comes back down to idle is when it smokes.

here is a video of what the turbo sounds like when i rev it up a little...this was right after i did the engine swap so there alot of things not working in the video lol but you still hear it...its still making that noise to this day.

Thanks guys
