Recommended Posts

hey guys,

i need some help guys n girls! im abit confused :( i see alot of ppl using gtr fuel pumps n shit for upgrades for rb20's i could get one of those for about $150 in sweet condition, but i see alot of ppl use walbro 500HP pumps too and also the 044 or 040 BOCSH pumps!! whats the best?!?! im leaning towards the walbro kit.. (heard its easyer to instal n shit also its at a nice price around $150 too brand new.. but yeah would love to hear your feed back ay

also, has anyone heard of a company (super spark) ) they make coil packs red ones.. just wondering if anyones used them too.. or (spitfire) the blue ones lol ? what are your thoughts? they are around the same price beteween them ay.. im not fussed :)

my next mods are gonna be fuel pump, gtr injectors and coil packs(maybe) also a z32 afm (if anyone got ones of these that would be hot!) pm me :) also a tune with DRDRIFT if possible when he comes up to the coast :) .. if anyone has any of these gimme a buzz would be great... to get them at a quality price n shit :D <3

Could i get that with ? with an rb20det with 25 turbo with 3" all the way stainless split dump and front turbo back zorst no mufflers :D and a new fuel pump, injectors around the gtr specs also a remap of stock ecu (tuned by dr drift) tuned stainless manifold and hks mushy pod in cold box with fmic and new spitfire or super spark coil packs and z32 afm?

the GTR pump should suit your needs, mine didnt run out of flow until i was approaching 270rwkw, it should be the cheapest option too!

ahh ok. well i dont mind either way.. the noise ect.. it isnt an issue :D my car sounds like a truck u wouldnt be able to hear the pump anyways.. and i was more leaning for a the brand new pumps cos they brand new lol and not worn.. but i want good value and price i though 150 for a brand new walbro 500HP was pretty good for brand new and the 040 was 200 i think .. and yeah so please keep posting ur experiences with these fuel pumps.

also wat litre per hour does the GTR fuel pumps accually run at?

i had a bosch 040. was noisy as hell. it end up dieing on me.

i then went with a gtr pump which supports up to ~250rwkw and is just as quiet as the stock pump.

i'd say stay with OEM and go with the GTR pump. :D

lol. i love my 040's noise. car almost shudders on priming. and dips of the throttle increase its noise. i love definitely a good mod.. but need a bigger pump soon

I run a bosche 023 largest in tank puppy available and nice a easy to install, i have also heard alot of bad things about walbro pumps

ahh k, what litre per hour is the 023 (the largest intank one)? and that funny u say that lol iv heard bad things about Bosch pumps.. and to go Walbro :| ZOMFG dilamas

I could not hear my 040 over the exhaust... :glare:

But thought why pay $150-200 for a second hand used fuel pump which probablly does not even flow as much as it used too when new...

And with 300+rwkw in mind I didnt want to skimp of a quality fuel pump hence my selection of an 040...

New, realiable, warranty, cheap and fits with minimal modification in the tank...

Althought I think te GTR pump is a good idea, im hesitant to use second hand stuff like fuel pumps cause if they fail to feed enough fuel you can do massive damage...

col u pretty much said wat i was thinking ay. i really want a new pump.. specially when your paying that price.. but nfi what one? so lol what next :| :glare: keep posting noobs <3

040 is all you need to flow up to and over 300rwkw...

Plus thier cheap as chips, cheaper than some gtr pumps ive seen for sale.

Looking at your needs, an 040 will be prime :glare:

One note tho, id avoid ebay for these items go to a shop where you get an invoice and a warranty direct from bosch. (might cost you $20 more)

GTG Top gear time

ahh k, what litre per hour is the 023 (the largest intank one)? and that funny u say that lol iv heard bad things about Bosch pumps.. and to go Walbro :| ZOMFG dilamas

800hp not sure of exact flow rate :P go the bosch!

cant go wrong with a genuine bosch 040, had one im my car. As col said dont skimp on ya pump get a brand newy. if you are worried about the noise just insulate it with proper fuel hose that is big enough to go around the body of it.

cant go past the bosh 040 pump .. walbro pumps arent worth the effort after 240ish rwkw struggle too much .. mind you my bosh 040 isnt super quiet a lil noisy

Splitfires are good havent heard or seen the other brand before ? i know MSD do a kit for the RB's around 2 grand for the set

hmmm just had a quick look, i could pick up a bosch 023 for 190 delivered :O thats not bad  half price sale or something lol its the same price as the 040 :O and the 023 is biggerhp and flow better stronger apparently  makes sense to me to get the 023 :).. i'm still after some GTR injectors if anyone knows anyone who has a set, much appreciated :D

regards JEZ.

hey ppl's thought i would ask a question while we are talking bout pumps.. i bought a walbrow 500hp for ma 33, expecting to run 300kw @wheels... is that capable. if not i was gonna run that pump plus a serge tank ect and a better pump.. but dont wanna spend the money if i dont have to.. any thoughts ?

thanks

stay away from walbro's man. bad news all over this site.

however one common problem with the bosch o40 on the other hand is that u will need a dedicated power and earth wire, as u dont recieve the full voltage (i wasnt). also the 040's have a tendancy to overheat and burnout.

so there are sides to both story's. buy new, as u will get a warranty
