What a night.

Got royally tanked and fed for only 17 bucks culminating in a food fight and one of my mates pulling his balls out for a camera and on the way home saw a white R35 cruising through the Hachiko crossing intersection only to stop just after.

Better go check this out i thought.

They are awesome to see on the street.

Nice bloke who was driving it, Koichi, specializes in plastic surgery and was kind enough to hop out and chat for a while as he was waiting for another friend - a girl and he already had 2 others in his car. Pimp. girls were pretty hot too.

Business cards exchanged and we'll be hooking up next week to go for a drive. I cant wait. Hopefully i can bag a drive. That will be something.

Funny thing he told me...Hed never owned a Nissan before this. His friend who works at Nissan coerced him into the purchase.

He's only had it for a month and it only has 300 Kays on the clock. Lol, its not even broken in yet.

Even funnier, the car drew crowds and funnily enough a group of aussies on holiday encircled the car taking shots and asking questions.

yep, I'm knackered but its always awesome to have experiences like that.

Only in Japan i say!

Thanks for the pics.

LOL, the girls are better than the GT-R!!! look at the number of people download the last picture

cbf the car who are the babes !!

lol, the one in the back seat, Ayako, was asking me all sorts of questions...im not the ugliest bloke in the world but she was being hell forward. The girl in the front was Emiko and thats the 47y.o Plastic surgeon's 25 y.o GF!

lol, then another 20 something girl rocked up that i didnt have a chance to meet.

Akeenan, he said he lived in Daikanyama and we both know how ritzy that area is.

Sewid, your comment on the demographics was interesting. Docs have always traditionally been Porka, BMW or Merc territory so for him to choose the Nissan must indicate something significant for Nissan. Then again, maybe not, lol.

Koichi told me its his daily driver although how he can only have gotten 300 Kays out of a month is beyond me...must live close to work.

Interesting if guys like him are buying them. This is Porsche's target demographic and here he is driving a GTR. Well done Nissan I guess.

Think most GTRs are owned by older men. I know of one 60+ year old who owned a bayside Vpec2 then traded it in for the same model in Nur Spec and is now waiting for his 35. Another is probably due to its pricing especially the 35. Interestingly, for this model, if someone wanted a loan, they require a min of 40% down payment. Dont think this was the case with other line ups. Another example of its popularity, a friend of mine whose husband works at Nissan could get me 20% off the price of a V35 Skyline or any Nissan but not the GTR. :glare:

What a complete and utter waste for starting a new thread :glare:

If ever Tom, Dick or Adam started a thread for a spotto or cause they had a brain fart the whole board will turn into one giant Wasteland.

No one cares what you did for $17 or that you saw a R35 let alone posting up the blokes life story FFS!!!

Sure this section is about R35 "Discussion" but maybe next time save it for the kiddies in the classroom at story time if you dont have anything "constructive" to post but pure dribble!!!

That being said it may be time for a consolidated spotted sticky since we're seeing a few of these threads. I'll work on that shortly.

Dont really see it being a necessity or high priority seeing as the car isn't available in Australia yet, there are threads regarding the ones here along with a multitude of others obtaining info, pics, models/specs and test drives.

Once they become available in Oz then i think the state spotto or wasteland thread would still be sufficient without anything in here :ermm:

Geez chill mate give the guy a break

Keep your tantrums to the kiddies section as well

Why should i give him a break, he posts nothing but dribble and continually pushes the limits of the rules of the forum and the people that help maintain.

He's the first person to sook if things dont go his way and every time he opens his mouth its like he is trying to cause trouble.

I'll give him a break the day he picks up his game and acts his age, until then this thread is typical m3gtr dribble and im awaiting his mature reply having ago at me and ranting that i have verbally attacked/abused him :ermm:

I'll second R34's post.

Chill out mate.

This thread might have a slight wasteland feel to it, but i think your judgment is harsh. I believe most people would enjoy reading about what types of people are buying the new gtr, and seeing the chicks you can pull with one.

Thanks for sharing m3gtr. I spotted and sat in a brand new r35gtr on Saturday(In Sydney!!!), they are awesome in flesh!!!!

    • Hi There I went through a rabbit hole of reading about Xenon headlights and the ADR regulations for having them installed. As people have been defected by running factory xenon I was researching in ways to make them compliant. Everyone always say needs to be self leveling and have washer installed, which I don't necessarily agree with. For this argument I'm using R34 as reference as I'm more aware on the construction of the headlight compared to the R33 Xenon, which may still be the exact same case.   For the self leveling clause taken from ADR 13 - Installation of Lighting and Light Signalling Devices on other than L-Group Vehicles As you can see the bold text "these manually adjustable devices from driver seats" are fine to use. As Series 1 Xenon model headlights do have a 4 level adjuster on the right near the ignition (however not series 2) then these model are consider compliant in that argument.   For the Self Cleaning aspect of this argument clause taken from ADR 13 - Installation of Lighting and Light Signalling Devices on other than L-Group Vehicles Now i can understand the argument that Xenon will need a washer as they are over 2000 lumens, but I clicked on the 12 at the end of that sentence and it takes me to the end notes which states R34 for headlight lenses are plastic, not sure if PL is mark as I don't currently have my skyline to confirm that marking is there. But could you not technically get a lenses with the PL marking on it and then get away with the argument that you need a washer. I went through a quick read of the adr and might have missed something else that may cause them to be non-complaint.    But wouldn't these technically be complaint headlights   Would love to hear other people input on this and shed some light   Edit In regard to the the washer portion I might be mistaken ADR 45 (which I believe is Regulation NO.45) states 12 cd (candela) I dont understand that portion in regarding to calculating the candela if anyone can shed some light. Otherwise I guess throw in a washer for the headlight and you definitely comply.

    • I'd say closer to OG GTX3582R, just smaller trim - so 59mm inducer/82mm exducer as opposed to 62/82 for the first gen GTX3582R. Yeah EFRs were boss, the EFR8474 is still an absolute beast and it perplexes me that people still go to things like Turbosmart/Garrett etc when the results people are getting with those are pretty unremarkable compared to what you could get with a turbo available well before those options came out.  DriftSquid (I think) "upgraded" from an EFR9174 to a Turbosmart turbo and promised a comparison video - and kinda shuffled awkwardly and did a bit of diversion from the fact that they didn't get any improvement going to the currently massively hyped brand of turbo from a turbo that was a bit of a frankenstein that had been well superceded in it's own range before the Turbosmart unit he put on there even came out. I suspect the EFR would outperform most Xonas for what a lot of less-insane RB owners would go for, in the 400-600kw range but the Xonas are looking hard to beat up to maybe in the mid 700kw range at this stage- basically where EFRs don't really reach, and before the Precision turbos take over.  What the Xonas do well in the "EFR range" is be easier to package etc, and work very well if a divided housing doesn't suit your application.
