Ask your question on this fine thread ; http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Th...ic-t202467.html

I'll even change the Voting to include something about the Sti.

Seriously------ go drive it. e-opinion isn't worth much to you here but, then again if you ask the question on the above thread you will get banannas. :D:laugh::yes:

rev210 - what were you doing during the cyclone that hit the banana region last year?

19 year old can't afford an R34 GTR?

Why not?

I am 20 years old. I own a heavilly modified R33 GTS-T and have been looking into getting an R34 GTR Vspec II.

I earn $51,000 a year and I live in Tasmania so the same position in the mainland would be fetching around $75,000 as Tasmanian wages are gerenally lower.

I obviously don't have the money to buy an R34 GTR upfront but with my income and my very low cost of living a Bank would be glad to lend me the money to buy one. I could probably save up $10,000 fairly quickly for a deposit if I didn't already owe $18,000 from my R33

When my brother was 21 years old he was on $96,000 a year in Western Australia.

A 19 yr old wanting to buy an R34 GTR....????Since when does working at McDonalds pay that sort of cash...?

Yeah, what a dill - a 19 kid buying a $50K car (a good r34 GTR would cost this much nowadays) - whatever... he's just wanting to know which is faster for his stupid childish mind and thought he'll throw in an ego-driven line or two... whatever... :P

You're brother's 21 and he earns $96K, shut the fark up ... executive managers fetch around that much, unless he's a genius ... he'll be lucky to be on $50k... move on and let the flaming continue ffs... :P

This is very realistic for a tradie working over in the WA mines.

ud have to be nuts to go for a WRX, first theyre 4 door- not exactly a sports car, and i think from memory its got a 1.9 litre 6 cylinder engine in comparison to a 2.6 litre GTR the stocky RX has the same engine capacity as the WRX.... u figure it out u have turbo to boost it up and family car sized engine .... u figure it out

Your looking at two fairly different types of cars here. On the one hand you have a rally bred zippy 2L 4 banger with tight ratios and 4 doors (nothing wrong with 4 doors by the way) thats pretty reputable, but hasn't got very far you can go with it performance wise. On the other hand you have a legendary sports car that still competes with most new supercars despite being nearly a decade old (motor magazine)... which has got more top end, more torque, better equipped and more likely to be collectable and has sooooooooo much tuning potential. Besides all the stats match ups... ITS A f**kING GTR!!!!! But realistically, for a 19 year old to own either one makes you a lucky f**ker. best of luck

couldnt help but drop in my 2 cents.

Flammers above... just because you fail at life and don't have a decent job doesn't mean other people can't.

I am a Systems Support and Development Officer for the state government and I am 20 year old and I live in Tasmania were public servents get paid a fair bit less than the mainland.

My brother is a Geologist for Newcrest, When he was 21 he had a science degree with first class honors, Newcrest offered him a job, flew him to WA, paid for his accomedation ect. and put him on $96,000 a year starting wages. Hes now 24 and on a lot more than that living on the gold coast.

Any way enough of that.

A friend of mine... WHO IS 19!!! just brought a 1999 WRX STI. Took me for a drive and I was not impressed. was under powered, not how I suspected.

I mean when my R33 was standard it felt soo much more powerful. My mates stock NA R31 wagon feels quicker and my mate was giving it all its got trying to show off his STI.

Man get a GTR... it would be stupid not too. Even an R32 GTR would put an STI to shame. Too many people get them and wank over them and say they are the best things on the planet. I would have to say tho the Jap spec ones they are called the 22B I think, 2.2L. They have like 257Kw I think (from wikipedia), MASSIVE loads more than the Aus versions, there is one getting around where I am and it just puts Aus spec WRX to shame somefin cronic.
