Hey all,

I have a R33 GTR and i am looking to get an exhaust done on it... ive asked around got quotes etc etc...

Ive been quoted any were from $2200 to over $4000...

Now i was looking through nengun.com at there exhausts they offer and came across these two items...

http://www.nengun.com/trust-greddy/mx-front-pipe

and

http://www.nengun.com/trust-greddy/titan-composite

Now if i team those two items up together would that work?? or what am i missing!!! as this would only come to $1155.65 which is much MUCH cheaper than any of the quotes i have got...

What am i over looking?

cheers

What are you overlooking?

Well for a start, good luck finding stock of the Titan Composite system.

Second, you have not allowed for freight.

Third, you have not allowed for the tax and duty you will be paying when the exhaust arrives.

Its not like importing a Power FC, the exhaust box is massive and you will more than likely need a customs broker.

How exactly is the above MUCH cheaper than anywhere here, when a quick look through the trader forum reveals you can have a new Kakimoto Regu 06&R cat back for $895, and Stainless JJR Front Pipes with local warranty for $299?

Ok cheers for the ideas.... but saying about the JJR Front Pipes for $299 (thats the ones Just Jap sell right) has anyone used them? are they actually any good? seeing as brand name ones retail easily double the price?

I looked at them recently when I was there and they are very similar to the HKS type and the build quality appears to be very good.

thanks for that... have contcted them and Steve sounds quite good.

Only problem i dont like is the exhaust cannon is only Titanuim looking not a real titanium tip.... Not into fake things...

The dump pipes would be good if i knew they worked well...

well bud. u see in your first pic of the system that u uploaded?

it has a rear cannon, a cat and a =mid muffler.

the mid muffler helps heaps. i had one with a jasma muffler, sounds like a camry, whisper quite. but when i took it out, it was loud as.

the mid muffler acts as a baffle, which im sure u already know, and helps to suppress the sound. u do lose power but its only about 0.0002hp, but is worth it.

especially for a gtr, u dont want to attract any more attention ay.

I have a r33 s2 GTST with a JJR stainless front pipe. Different kettle of fish the GTR, i know... I was happy with the integrity of the welds and bends on the JJR front pipe, and the fit was ok, but I did have to change some of the studs off the turbo to bolts as I could get nuts on a couple of them due to the shape of the pipe.

Yeah I have the $160 hi-flow 3" cat converter

with a bellmouth Just Jap stainless 3" front pipe (turbo to cat) for $220

plus a Kakimoto gtr racing 3" muffler for $100

with custom 3" pipe from cat to muffler at exhaust shop

much cheaper than 2k plus

kakimoto mufflers sound horn and are free flowing

JJR dumps are good value for money

I wish tho I got a big body cat converter.......
