Hi all,

I have 3 questions regarding maintenance for an R34 GT-R V-Spec II.

1) Where are the jacking up points for the front and rear? Do I have to take off the F/R under diffusers before jacking up?

2) Where is the best place to put the Jack stands?

3) How do you take off the oil filer without causing a mess, because I had a look down there and it looks fairly tricky.

Any info would be greatly appreciated,

Hi all,

jacking points should be the same with 32 gtrs...at front cross member well with 32 has n X shape centre of car and the rear just past the diff there is a jacking point there as well

2) Where is the best place to put the Jack stands?

some people mount the jacks on the rails but not really good idea as you dont want to damage the rail, in the manual shows where you would jack the car up if u had a flat n use those points..just rear of front wheel n front of rear wheel....personally use the cross members.

3) How do you take off the oil filer without causing a mess, because I had a look down there and it looks fairly tricky.

yeah that sucks unless you have a hoist, placing rags under the oil filter location as your taking the filter out may minimise a mess..or get a oil filter relocator, saves you hassles in the future.

Any info would be greatly appreciated,

hope that helps

HA! install a remote oil filter, but thats a head f**k of a job cuz there is hardly any room to move in the engine bay.

As what godzl1975 said, use the rags or what I do is after getting the oil filter on, I spray around the filter with degreaser and the rinse of with water.

I hated jacking my Skyline (more specifically, where to place the stands)

The Rail's are fairly weak and i dont wanna crush em. The Sill's are a big no-no for obvious reasons (one of mine was squashed flat when i got it)

I used to use the curved section, front / rear, just near where the lower control arm attaches to cross member/rear cradle. I didnt like the idea of living under the car for days like this though.

Figuring Nissan designed the sills to take the weight, (as per manual) a mate, Apex Trudger made me up some thick dense rubber blocks with slits (in which the sill sits in) I place these on the jack stands.

I jack it where everyone else does.

Good point bout the front diffuser, from what your saying it sounds like the R34 one covers the x-member?
