hi all

I just received my tomei 2.8 stroker today i ordered the one with cooling channel and from wat i understand the cooling

channel is in the piston itself correct me if im wrong, this is where i got my info from http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/_2003web-catalogu...051_piston.html. all i got was crankshaft, rods and piston kit is there anyone here who knows if im missing anything i can post pics if needed i paid alot of dollars just wanna make sure im getting wat i paid for and by the way there are no part numbers on them any help would be much appreciated

looks like its moulded into the underside of the crown of the piston so there wont be any other parts than the piston itself.

if you want to tripple check then take a picture of the underside of the piston focusing on the inside of it and attach it for us to have a look.

well there is a channel between the top ring lands and the first oil control ring lands so I would say that's it. the little holes in the side of the piston on the bottom ring land are also to expell oil but they all have that.

actually you can see it in their diagram. it's just the shape of the underside of the pitson that I guess is supposed to catch oil from the (standard) oil squirters and kind of swirl it around the piston. if you are still worried, just put up the part number that was on your piston kit and I can check it against their goods master at home.

edit: look inside the piston, you can see like a little 'shelf' or 'channel' inside. that's the cooling channel.

Not really comparing apples with apples because i brought my Tomei stroker kit second hand, although it was unused. But my kit also came with Tomei / ARP2000 rod bolts and also spacers for the oil squirters. I would think these should have been included with your kit, the squirter spacers any way.

I also had my crank grub screwed, something for you to think about.

Cheers

Sorry to bump an old thread but those pistons are not cooling channel. The following image, taken from here http://www.skylinesa...ost__p__4639613 is of tomei cooling channel pistons.
