We are actualy based in Melbourne but we buy cars for clients all over Australia, we would normally have the car complied in Sydney for you but we can arrange it down here if you prefer us to watch over the process for you ... the only thing you would have to take care of yourself would be the registration, although we can point you in the right general direction if necessary.

The prices of most 1989 models are fairly good at the moment but we do expect prices to rise a fair bit on most popular models before the end of the year - remember that we will be bidding against other countries with 15 year import laws also (like Canada)

The car that Shell posted above was for sale at Yahoo auctions for some time and was eventually sold for only 220,000 yen - that works out to be around AU$7,700 landed (plus compliance and rego), so maybe just under $10,000 on-road.

I should have also added that this was fairly cheap for the SIR model, you would normally be looking at around $8,000 to $10,000 landed (plus compliance and rego)

We have five more 1989 model SIR's and two nice SI's available for purchase right now if you are interested - prices range from $6,200 to more than $10,000 landed (plus compliance and rego)

For anyone else reading this post, compliance for most popular 15 year old cars will be around $800 to $1,500 depending on the actual car you buy, registration requirements in your state and how much of the work you want to do yourself.

Just have a look around on prestigemotorsport.com.au, though with them it looks like half are decent and half not so decent...

That's because the only cars that Prestige sends through to the public list and cars listed on Yahoo Japan... They are just teasers :D

LaL: I am using Geoff and have nothing but praise for him.

LW.

I'll put my 2c in,

I just imported an R32 GTR through Geoff, no bad hickups had the car in 6 mobnths as I had to wait for import in 2004, had the car early feb... was exteamly happy with the car.

****Edited by PranK - sorry, but no slagging of business'****

I have had dealings Geoff and have only good words about him, put your money with prestige...

I have my car and it is a great example.. there are a few on these boards that will varify its condition.. and to add to it, it was the cheepest on the site @ $14,700-

We were so impressed that my dad just bought and recieved a 92' V8 Soarer and it is also a beautiful example of a car..

Umm no offence but a deposit is just that .. its to cover him and his cost's for time etc looking for a car for you.. and hey it is a deposit you dont normally get deposits back.. How ever his rule is that you get 90% of it back.. so you loose about $100.. it seems fair enough to me..

No offense to Geoff but i cant trust him after all the stories ive heard.. but hes good.

Try Dairyboy.. hes the best. awsome prices and tells the truth allot!

Sounds to me like another person who has zero first hand experience making claims of untrustworthiness.

Stirlo_GTR,

have you recieved the GT-R ? Prestige tend do edit the auction sheets allot.. dairyboy is by far a great importer.. but doesnt give refunds if you have put a deposit then changed your mind :D

Id be very careful of the claims you are making.

If you would prefer to buy cars from your daiyboy friend then by all means, go for it. But do not come on this forum talking garbage about Prestige when its clear you dont know what you are talking about. You dont appear to have any first hand experience with buying vehicles from Geoff, and therefore no basis for criticism

    • Thank you, this will keep me busy for a bit.  I will update progression.
    • That specific one would be an exchange part, meaning I'd have to send mine to them. Plus it looks like a non AWD sump, which won't work for me. There is one or two shops in my country that I can ask to do a sump extension job and it'd most likely end up being cheaper than sending mine to AUS or NZ and getting one back, and quicker too.
    • Rear turbo is leaky, most likely at the oil drain. From what I could see with my boroscope it seemed to have seeped out at the very top of that return hose. Is it possible that the oil climbs up that hose to then leak out? Yup, coolant leak on the hot side of the engine, only noticed after seeing clear rusty residue in the block right from the turbo oil feed downwards to the pan, and red droplets hanging from the pan. No clear sign yet from where it comes, and most of the lines there are hardlines right? Last year, seeing those red drops, I thought it was power steering, will be glad if that is not leaky at least. Another leaking hose I found by chance is the lower of the two heater core hoses coming from the firewall to the back of the head. That one is not too bad to get to if I have to replace.
    • I think for response I'm already kind of out there no? he -5s are not the best pick for that as the Internet tells me. Maybe I should switch to -7s while I still can? Though that almost definitely warrants an engine pull along with the other issues I have.
    • Which I agree with. I don't want or need a high hp straight line car, I want it to be fun on the road and nothing more. Hence why I said my max power goal will be around 500 crank. The few times I drove the car last year I didn't even use high boost and it was already quick enough for me, should have been around 380-400 crank I think (2860-5s at 1-1.1bar).
