Hey, i don't know if this has been posted anywhere, but i have a R34 25GT 2 door, (a new white one, not my black one)

and on this model it has an electronic "tv/nav" system display int he dash (where the GTR computer is on GTR)

I think the 4 doors have them too.

Anyhow i was wondering how to tune to oz frequencies so i pick up our television broadcasts, or radio, i know you have to get it done somewhere, but where? and how much can it cost, is it possible to get the TV rewired to PAL instead of the NTSC format its in?

i dont see why not....

Thanks for the help in advance.

i always tell my friends "its got satnav and tv too"

i actually have a sony 10 stacker dvd player and it was hooked up onto the screen. it was running an auxillary out cable from inside the unit onto the stacker. it ran the picture through and audio was through the standard head unit auxillary. this was working fine until couple months ago when it basically shitted itself and it wouldnt go up anymore.

Ive got digital TV working perfectly on my Stagea, not sure what the Gtt setup is, if they have AV inputs on the tuner box/ head unit, then there is no reason why you cant have digital TV with your factory or aftermarket screen :

My R33 came with a Kenwood GPS + TV touch screen head unit...but it doesn't do anything!

It came with a Jap CD that has maps on it...and i've been asking around to see if theres ANYTHING i can play on it. I don't think it does DVD's but i hope i can at least get TV out of it.

Ok ok ok people say it cant be done, but it can. The problem is, is that there isnt enough knowledge on how to do it. It shouldnt be that hard, I know of 2 people on here that have got it working with a dvd player and one managed to get his playstation going aswell, and they didnt spend 500+ doing it. It sits in too much of an awesome spot and looks cool the way it opens, soo im not getting rid of it. Im going to try and get it working, ill get back when i find any info. peace!

ok did a bit of research and im told it can be done and has been, it can be done with portable dvd player or a new unit (cheapest version), u can even run crystal clear aus tv for bit extra $. Ive chosen to go with a new dvd unit to replace old standard nissan one which will be hooked up to the tv (can run playstation etc too). the tv needs to be hacked or something im told, Better to see someone that has done a couple before, ive gone to places like alberts and stuff and they told me its a waste of time too expensive bla bla bla.

If your in perth let me know ill give you someone to talk to or Brissy theres someone i know there that can help too. Peace

Im getting it done the week comin up so ill let u know how i go.

    • 95 is just a scam outright. 98 is the real "premium" with all the best detergents and other additive packages, and at least historically, used to be more dense also. 95 is just 91 bargain basement shit with a little extra octane rating. Of course, there's 91 and there's 91 also. I always (back in the 90s early 2000s) refused to put fuel in from supermarket related fuel chains on the basis that it was nasty half arsed shit imported from Indonesia. Nowadays, I suspect that there is little difference between the nasty half-arsed shit brought in by the "bargain" chains and the nasty half-arsed shit brought in by the big brands, given that most of it is coming from the same SEAsian refineries. Anyway - if there's still anything to that logic, then it would apply to 95 also. 98 is only made in decent refineries and, as I said, is usually the "premium" fuel, both in terms of octane rating and "use this because it's good for your engine because it's got the unicorn jizz in it!".
    • Yeah since those first 2 replies I actually went and put some 98 in it and tbf it's already doing much better than the 95 (which is weird and makes my inner tinfoil hat wearer think the 95 was a crap batch), getting 8ish around town. Again, wonder if it takes a while to stabilize if the fuel is changed a couple of times. I swear cars used to just either run "well" or "s**t* in my 20s, none of this fuel optimisation business haha
    • Any number of different ways. Have the coils draw sufficient current to provide contact wetting. Use different contacts in the switch, either by material or design, better suited to the low current drawn by a relay coil. Etc.
    • Hmm, how does the R34 manage to have headlight relays then without getting excessive carbon buildup on the headlight switch contacts?
    • Not R7R. Meant to type R&R, obviously enough.
