things i know:

nismo 10% less throw

c's 30 % less throw / shorter shift stick

besides this what the difference

Anyone know if the short shifter kits actually drop the height of the gearknob? lol i dont really care about the throw just want something thats not sitting up so high!! I see a NISMO on on nengun? anyone know if this is a lower height? thanks

I see what you’re asking. The answer is no. The position of the gear knob is the same height whether you have the stock one or Nismo/C's item.

  • My previous GTR had a Nismo - Gear knob the same height
  • My current GTR has a C's = Gear knob the same height.
  • I would not recommend using a short shifter on a daily driven street car as you know by now:

IT WILL SHORTEN THE OVERALL LIFE SPAN OF YOUR SYNCROS AND PUT ADDITONAL STRESS ON YOUR SELECTOR FORK.

I have a short shifter because I never really drive my car...just sits in my garage with an occasional burst at the track :P

The only way I can see you getting a lower height gear knob is to buy another selector (don't hack up your original one) and then shorten it slightly (most metal fabrication businesses will be able to do this). You don't want it too short otherwise you will require more force to select gears.
