It's a redish flash. It does flash at night time.

Which would mean its not an infrared camera, the naked eye CAN NOT see infrared light is what i am saying.

The moltinova's are a joke, on the east cost the speed camera units are mounted in the car on the dash and all you can see from the out side is the flash unit which looks similar to a "roo shoo" but bigger and there is no signs advising that you have either passed or are going to pass a speed camera unless it is in testing.

It really doesnt effect me i dont care about paying for insurance which i dont think is going up because of a few incidents and even if it was i sincerly doubt it would be that much to even worry about. That is like people that complain about the price of petrol who cares it is a necessity that you have to have, no matter how much you complain it wont stop rising(just like the more people that start getting there licence the more people on the road and inevitably insurance would go up as well, with out isolated incidents like people speeding in foreign cars to boost it up) Comments about hooning dont mean much i find them quite funny actually, iam not a hoon i have only lost one point ever for 80 in a 70 and that 70 zone use to be an 80 north lake road so it doesnt bother me, i would probably be more of a hoon in a escort rather than a skyline. if you are susceptible to things such as you have mentioned - 10$ increase in your premium - people calling you a hoon - lame news articles.

Then god knows what you would do if someone pulled up next to you and wanted to race...you just might have to haha :P but iam sure you never have.

maybe i just dont take driving a imported car as seriously as i should because i dont heed all these warnings and properganda.

Lighten up man i think there are bigger issues in perth and around the world than those god damn street racers.

Point was you said it didn't affect you. I was just explaining why it did. How much of an effect depends on you. Oh and it is not a $10 increase in premiums. Try comparing a quote for a modified Skyline to a bog stock Falcadore. The difference is bloody ridiculous. Then try getting the same insurance after you have had a licence suspension.

The last time someone pulled up next to me and wanted to race my Mum was sitting in the passengers seat.....so I just ignored the fkwits in the Commodre like I usually do. I get far more amusement racing against my mates in their cars at places such as Wanneroo, Collie & at hillclimbs. You should try it one day. Infact check the laptimes thread in the motorsport section. See if you can post a halfway competitive time.....

Yes there are bigger issues than street racers. Far bigger issues. Which is why the sooner they & the hype surrounding them goes away the better off everyone will be.

I think it's so it doesnt blind you :D

:P

FYI its so they can read your number plate. If you look at photo's people have taken when its dark of their car the number plate reflect too much light so it just looks white.

The red light is so it doesnt' blind you at night, as the normal flash if they used that will blind you for sure.

I know as my mum use to work in the Police camera department. She also gave me a framed photo of my first Kodak moment with a multinova for Xmas one year.

hang on redlight camera or speed camera.. cause last time i checked they were a different system?? sorry if i'm wrong

but if it's a speed camera best bet would be to stock up on ky jelly

this has been covered already.

multinova at night with red cover on it.

for everyones sake... lets get this thread closed.

the question was ... what to expect

the answer is ... a big fine and demerit points at some point in time as a minimum

it was on the mitchell freeway where i have never seen a set of traffic lights so it was infact a multanova (see details here)

road racing is stupid and irresposible yet people still do it, and almost everyone has at some point in time. i agree with djr81 as i have aged and learnt but there are so many youngsters in these forums that are still wearing their superman suits and so are (in their minds) impervious to all things bar kryptonite... until they hit a car/tree/wall/person at speed.

nothing anyone says in here will change a speeders mind not to plant the right foot... we make the decisions to drive the way we want to and so long as we are all willing to accept the good and the bad of our actions then just let things be.

personally i would much rather see everyone on the track when they need a release as i would regret the day i read a new thread in here "SAUWA member ******* fatal accident"

drive safe everyone

p.s. CLOSE THE F**KING THREAD ALREADY!!! :P

IBTL!

anyone know what price a kilo of coleslaw is at woolworths/coles/action/farmer jacks

first one with correct answers can drag an MR2!!!

Now please kill the thread Dan, before we lose any more IQ points.

Awwwww! Just when I was going to pontificate endlessly about spelling, punctuation and grammar.

You're spoiling all the fun ... .... ... ...

:P

Well maybe just admire the fact that someone on this forum can differentiate between lose & loose.

LOL. Admire, admire. It did not go unnoticed. You, sir, are like bat's piss.

You stand out like a stream of gold when all around you is darkness. :D

Cheers. :P

    • What HVAC actuator is under the steering wheel? Do you mean on the RHS of the centre console, immediately to the left of your shin? If so, then yes, it is probably that one, because that is the mode door actuator, and from what I know, it's still a pain in the arse to replace. I don't know about whole dash out, but you certainly have to rip into the centre console section. I don't know if it's covered in the workshop manual, as I haven't spent much time looking at those parts of it. (and by "the workshop manual, I mean the R32 GTR one, which is the most comprehensive one we have, and it should be similar enough between that and later cars to serve as a guide).
    • ...oops. forgot the TCU end...
    • No I got mine from a friend that had fabricated one … but I had to fit it to my setup which was a hks turbo setup. His was a Garrett -7. So one of my turbos was not a flange for one side … then I had a leak in the welds I had to find a weld shut … in the end the setup was decent priced but I spent a lot to get it fitted. A couple companies I checked would make it but you’re talking 7-9k aud with titanium. No joke mine was 6-7k even second hand after I had to fit it in Hong Kong … labour is expensive here.
    • I'd just like to restate that I don't think anyone here is actually hating I recently sold a car part to a guy who was building a forged auto R34, with MV stall and aiming at ~450kw. I told him that I'm him, from the future and to stop after it explodes once. I told him I knew he won't listen the first time, and that's fine. But if my predictions do come true - Change direction faster than I did. I also said it's probably no coincidence that the dyno plot of a reliable turbo engine starts to look a lot like a N/A motor. :p
    • Got just the wing painted and fitted up to the existing boot. Big visual change and about time after having a GTR wing sitting in the shed since 2018 Headed up to Mallala with a quick obligatory stop in at Boliver OTR Oil control mods seems to have worked. I checked the catch can after session 1 and there was a dribble of water/e85 with barely any oil in it. After session 2 and 3 there was almost nothing and I stopped checking after that. so either great success or catastrophic failure/block of the external breather The GTR wing made a noticeable difference in the 160-185km/h sweepers. It was a very hot day for the cars at over 33C but the previously done cooling upgrade/ducting/water sprayers meant I never saw over 60C intake, 105C water and 100C oil and temps would drop back down very quickly once I shut it down. AD09's are a decent tyre but certainly and expectedly a step down when compared the the CR-S/AR-1 I have had on the car for years of track days. The handling characteristics of my car which I often describe using the Tony Hawks Pro Skater balance mechanic where either side of the center is understeer/oversteer was much more pronounced with no "green/safe" zone in the middle. However, imo it steers well/easily during oversteer largely thanks to the custom ACOSTAL front end. Enjoy a loose lap POV with my mate giggling away as a passenger.   Group photo for Peer Pressure Racing made it back home and gave it a wash Overall a great success compared to my previous two track days where i cooked the Starlets motor and blew up the new diff in the R32
