Anyone Have A Datalogit For Sale Or That They Could Borrow Out For A Week

Recommended Posts

hey guys was wondering if anyone south of the river has datalogit for sale or they could borrow out.. or even lend a hand at getting to the bottom of a random knock at a few points of my power fc tuning map ... i would prefer to get to the bottom of the knock by the professionals since im not entirely sure its a tuning issue since ive had it knock a few times with the standard ecu in at around 12 psi on a hot day, but after getting messed around multiple times by x speed n cypher, kind of getting to the point where i cant be bothered with them any more and would like to give the car a run with the datalogit n possibly a wideband 02 sensor to try and get to the bottom of it, any help would be greatly appreciated!!

What the difference between using this and the proper apexi software? Im gonna buy one or the other very shortly so Jarrod i can probably let you use it aswell

Hey jarrod

I have FC datalogit with upgrades etc.... have you got a laptop?

I would be willing to let you use it as long as I'm there.

cheers

rob

Road tune styles.... least this way you can learn about your own PFC.

The reason behind me buying the Datalogit was the same reason as you... GETTING THE F^&KED AROUND by "high performance specialized import super spec tuning work shops" and paying top dollar for the privilege.

email me at rfkarl@hotmail.com

thanks heaps syslink67 ill give u a email, and yeh my sister has a lap top i should be able to borrow she has serial and usb :)

yeh the tuners i went to in perth was terrible, i was getting sick of the run around aswell, i bookd into x speed with a 5-6 week bookin got there they recon the wrong fuel was in the car n it was knockin to badly to tune and i would have to drive it around n drive out all the fuel, honestly it took me and a mate about 15 mins to get it out so they could of easily done it n charged me a lil extra just for the sake of getting it done that day, made another bookin but they rang up to move it or something so i gave up with then, booked it into cypher had my fmic n blitz i colour sbc installed, was meant to bring it bak on the weekend for the tune, got there and they claimed it was too hot, followin fortnight was meant to go in the guy they borrow the dyno from was in sharks bay still, next fortnight they were just like look take it to i think its hyperdrive or something in malaga.. in the end i pretty much just boxed my power fc after months of runnin around.. they seem to want to work on the big paying customers more.. sorry if we cant all bomb our cars over night :S

and jason as to the differences i couldnt really tell you that, i know most of the tuners use datalogit from what ive heard and seen in perth, i have both tuning programs on my computer, the fc pro that apexi uses looks way to complicated and my version all the errors that come up are in japanese i think and you cant do much without the cord, the datalogit program on the other hand is pretty user friendly, been able to do heaps of things with it without the cord.. look at other skyline maps etc

Have you got a dyno yet?

What the difference between using this and the proper apexi software? Im gonna buy one or the other very shortly so Jarrod i can probably let you use it aswell

    • This was a huge help.  We followed the steps,  although shifting into 2nd was actually into 3rd for us,  and 1st was into 2nd ( steps 9 and 11) .  The long flash was the 4th flash.  So shift solenoid A is possibly the culprit.  Is this inside the transmission itself? Or is it accessible by just front the pan? Or is it bolted to the outside of the transmission?  Thanos for your help everyone
    • Can you enlighten me on your best practice regarding these hoses? I don't wanna make the same mistake if you already got a better solution.
    • I have some silicon hoses already, for example engine to watercooler. But yeah, I get the sentiment. The lower intercooler silicon hose is drippy too, despite not being very old. Does anyone except Nismo make these same lines out of rubber? Long term I think they'd be the better replacement, especially since the car won't live as hard a life anymore as in the past nor be driven as often.
    • I know most issues are just age related. But for example the turbo oil drains, there is dash adapters for these and you can just make a braided teflon line for them and (probably) never have them leak again. Also not terribly expensive. Can you even get the factory hardlines from new? Or are they repairable if they break?
    • I know it'd be much much easier with the tool. I hope I can find one that won't take 3 weeks to get to me an isn't a "Asian models kit" that has tons of (to me) useless adapters for a load of cash.   It's a summer project/fun car. I do wanna enjoy it, without endless downtime over and over. So yeah I would even go and buy an engine crane + stand to save myself the trouble of hard to reach or unreachable places going bad later on. Would also be a good opportunity to put on a Fluidamper, renew the mains seals and stuff like that. I have some money on the side that I can use for that, what I wouldn't want to or be able to do is let everything be done by a shop or have my engine completely rebuild right now. I intend to do most of the "doable" jobs myself. Pulling an engine can't be that hard, can it?
