They have less inertial weight, hence rotate easier and help the engine produce more power. Sure it is probably 1rwkw, but for $100-$200 it is pretty good value - especially since the car will rev quicker and build boost quicker.

A friend of mine 'wegs' has got a pretty nice 32GTR and has done a fair bit of testing on the dyno with pulleys etc but says there was no noticeable difference even with more important items that included the removal of water pump, clutch fan and A/C from the crank pulley. Here's a quote from him and a link to the thread which includes some knowledgable info from Trent in Vic. It's a good read.

From here I experimented with different theories. I removed the water pump, clutch fan and A/C from the crank pulley. No noticable change on road or dyno. Installed popular RB26 Jap cams and Manifolds... slight change in midrange power but rest was identical. Boost points didn't change.
