Apologies for the noob question, but what uses the reddish/orange colour fluid on RB's?

I've found that this colour fluid keeps leaking from under the car. It's from that reservoir on the right side of the motor near the turbo.

Opinions?

It is power steering fluid. Check the level in the reservoir as it is common for people to overfill them & thereby get a leak when it heats up. If it is not an overflowing reservoir it is usually the larger of the rubber hoses.

Thanks for the responses.

I actually noticed wet piping through the system and found many of the power steering clamps were loose (could twist with gentle touch) so i tightened them and the leak slowed, but wasn't gone.

I also think some of the fluid has leaked on my AC compressor and made it seize.

The PS reservoir is 50% empty now! So i'm going to do a final run down for leaks and fill it again.

Is the best way to fill with the car on, and twist the wheel a few times to help it circulate? Anyone recommend brands?

Mine used to leak PS fluid around the PS cooler, near the stock battery location. I spent 12 months just filling the reservoir up every now and then, but damm did i pay for it.

When i removed HICAS and what not, i spent a good 4 hours degreasing all the filth and crud from under the car... all the way back to the gearbox lol.

Many of my hoses were loose as well.

I recommend spending some time and tracking the leak down ;)
