hey guys/gals [ not in that order but anyway]

Name: Mark

Age: 24

Location:Bankstown

Car: 91-92 Gold coloured magna

Wants: a non-turbo R34 4 door

Living with my partner and my 1 yr old boy im currently studying systems administration cert 4 and Diploma this year, when im not fiddling with computers, im playing one of my xbox 360's or out driving round for something to do, not so much recently due to fuel prices, but none the less.

after coming to SAU and checking up some info and reading some threads decided id sign up, and when cash becomes a bit more available id like to get membership.

      I definitely agree with you there - I never click on content for cars I would never ever be able to get or compete with/against/be seen next to. Seeing a MX5 compete with a FD RX7 will make people upset though, for sure. Even in 2.5L Turbo form which is pretty grass roots. (or at least as grass roots as classic cars can be) Yes we're all classic car owners now.

      People don't always want builds that are overly expensive, or have engineering/registration/insurance issues and head aches that come with them Whilst big dollar builds, and complicated stuff is interesting to watch, there is only a tiny % of people who would actually use this information, or have the spare finances to drop on said builds, whereas the buy a cheap(ish) cool car, and make it better, with a average budget, that the average Joe or Jane could achieve will always be a winner in my opinion

      Bit of a thread revival, you mentioned wanting a bit more top end before, do you regret not going with the 1.01?

      It's kind of interesting - They definitely do builds that split the difference between what they like and what will generate views and engagement. The NC Platform always surprises everyone in a good way, in an uncomfortably good way some may say. They could throw a LS in there and arguably have the best (and best performing) car of the entire stable. But that isn't necessarily what draws views, because people viewing don't want to accept the vegetables of a LS NC MX5 being a superior vehicle in every way (including fun) than a RB26 240Z. This is also why there's not a lot of content about the GR Yaris (on the web in general). They're too good, yet 'only a Yaris' The community doesn't want certain cars to be as good as they are - to beat their hero cars, and I believe the NC MX5 is absolutely one of those cars.
