I went for a long drive tonight down to the gong and noticed i was getting shocking fuel economy.I used a full tank there and back with a bit of a thrash here and there. The 02 was turned on but i noticed a couple of sensors had a black dot next to them (power fc)

Ones i can remember are IGN,F/P there where 3 others.I dont think ive seen these have a dot next to them before.

Should i be worried? The car was running rich but i put that down to the fact i was running 8 psi as the car is tuned for 16 psi with my highflow.

Found out what it means.Man i feel like such a NOOB! Thanks Paul for the FAQs ;)

You tend to forget things after being with out you car for 3 months lol

Still doesnt explain the fuel economy, will get it looked at.

Admin you may delete.

3 month+ old fuel is probably in the territory where you've lost a few octane points due to the fuel going bad(or starting to).

Take it easy and see if its the same on your next tank of fuel.

ps. my car drove like crap for a few hours after a week at the smashies.

Yep, your fuel is likely to be stale now Dave.

I would normally say drain it and refill it.

It did that itself up the maquarie pass on friday night :thanks:

    • I think he was only proposing to use the wire, not the sender. Simply because it runs from the right place to the right place. Personally, I wouldn't hack up the factory wiring like that. I'd just lay in the Defi loom.
    • From memory it wasn't too hard to simply see which wire ran where when you plug that in. Unfortunately also from memory the OEM sender does not use the same configuration 99.9% of gauges run. So in other words if you connect the signal wire that was running to the OEM gauge to your DEFI gauge you might find your oil reads at 200C or some other incorrect value. I remember having the same line of thought and then running new wires/senders to match the gauges I have. The pinout is available in the R34 workshop manual.
    • Does anyone on here know which wire on the GTT triple gauge pod harness is for the oil temp gauge? my sensor works fine but I upgraded the gauges to DEFI advance. And if I can simply piggyback off the oem oil temp wire to the Defi oil temp sensor wire that would make life so much easier.
