Hi there, i have been having an issue with cold starts. From a cold start the car runs like a dog with loud induction noise splutters, just a pig. I have slowly been narrowing down possible problems and now I’m at the water temperature sensor. i went to my local automotive service branch (petro-ject) and i was given a bosch replacement part. Now i have no idea what the resistance should be but the new replacement part and the old jecs sensor read differently. Its not that i don’t trust the guy there i just want to make surre... well i guess that means i don’t trust him . So my question is does anyone know what resistance a water temperature sensor should read for an RB26 ?? Any help would be great.

Cheers

Andrew

The ECU uses voltage from these sensors to know what the temp is, but you can also do a resistance test when it is unplugged, hope this helps.
