The base model Mustangs have a 4.6 OHC v8, however, the upper specs (GT500, Saleen, Shelby etc..) have the 4.6, 5.0 or 5.4 DOHC supercharged pumping out 403kw or more, so it is possible.

" 403kw 5.4L Supercharged V8 engine, 6-speed manual transmission, Ford Racing performance exhaust, Performance suspension tuning, Carbon composite Shelby bonnet, 40th Anniversay badging & much more. "

Yeah I see ya point, be interesting to see if the 2 do a comparison. If thats the Shelby Mustang GT500KR (King of the Road) you got pictured there, its got 410kw, extra 57kw over the GTR but will have to see how well it can match the handling of the GTR's ATTESA E-TS all wheel drive with its Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC-R).

Plus if we wanna get picky then we should be putting the GT500KR up against the V-Spec / EVO version of the GTR, (Thats if it will be released...)

-Base Model GTR vs Base Model Mustang

-Whatever higher spec GTR vs GT500, Saleen, Shelby

Quick Question BTW Do you see the Mustang selling here in AUS?

So far I have only seen one driving down Russel Steet in the city. It was a champagne gold colour. The rest are 1966 models around most of them converted some still LHD. I asked a Customs Broker about ppl importing USA cars into AUS, he said hardly, by the time with all the tax, paper work, conversions and what-not, it probley not really worth. IMO.

Mate. this Boat, althought tough looking, wouldnt stand a chance against a GTR on a track even with 57kw extra.

Move along, nothing to see.

You simply can not compare apples with oranges, it defies & contradicts with Murphys Laws no matter which along you look at it from.

Mustang has a prolonged history, it has become a cult car that is well known for its sheer power, grunt & muscle car statues. Mustang is a car that can retain and over periods raises its value once it becomes a classic. On the other hand, GTR's are handed over to toy boy racers and raped over with fiber glass add ons by 20yr old kids..

LOL! True that. Now say that to an American :laughing-smiley-014:

Damn you all jap crap lovers :)

I was waiting for you to say that. :laughing-smiley-014:

Yes its comparing Apples and Oranges. The argument never stops. Guess its just as long as you can see the differences between the 2 cars, no point comparing after all.

:thanks:

lol if u hate jap cars why u even on forum hahahahahhaha, dont like mustangs even if it sounds good lol, but at the end of the day it all depends if the car is a chick magnet lol

:(

Precisely.. then again, it was you who was comparing both wasn't it?

I think it's fair to say GTR's will be dumped away to the scrap yard without any value or significance where as a Mustang will be stored away to be refurbished within 30 years time.. One will always been viewed as a Japanese car and the latter will continue to retain its cult car status

Don't hate 'em.. as a enlightened individual i appreciate all cars of all spectrum, it doesn't worry me where it originates or who makes it. End of the day, i too have a "jap crap" :(

if I ever get another 180sx in the future, I'll be putting a 2005 stang front on it with something like a Steeda or Saleen kit... it actually works alarming well due to similar rear body lines.

They look f**kin rad, just love love love the styling cues comin out of the US as far as sports cars are concerned, all retro with modern twists. The new stang, camaro, transam (concepts) etc all look awesome. wouldn't buy a new stang out of choice though. Solid rear axles are cool on shitty old rustbucket AE86's and that's about where it should stop.
