oh i was just wondering does anyone know how many demerit points P's get? Some ppl tell me its 5 or 6. Is it really this Low? Or is it the same as full licence?

12.. Same as a fully licensed driver.. Only thing is I belive P platers can recieve more for certain offences..

But you'd have to ring Vic Roads/RTA or whoever else about that..

im in South Aus and we get 4 points... every point is jus so damn precious.. so thats why we get so angry wen the cops take away 3 points for goin 10k over the limit.. so rude....

Wrong HOTR33 its six...

When I was living in melb I lost three points in one go... At the police station I was told I only had 3 left for the year. This was confirmed when the fine arrived. If you loose 6 in one year on p's, you loose your lic for a month.

Yeah and you lose all four for 15km/h over the limit. You also lose all four if your p-plates aren't displayed correctly.

there also sum stupid rule where if you get 'loss of traction' on public roads you get an instant 6 month suspension of your license.. the laws are getting harsher by the day.. i also heard somewhere that demerrit points will b taken for defects.. anybody else no anymore about this?

In W.A no P's = a fine of $150 per P not up.

I also know if you lose your P's in W.a im pretty sure u got to take the test again and get your P's again (not sure might be wrong)

Actually in SA u loose ur licence automatically if u r 10km over the limit, not 15. So be careful. I lost it 2wice due to this cool rule

In queensland I've been caught 2 times 60km over the limit and lost 6 points and $285 both times. and a friend of mine was caught doing 180 in a 110 (M1 between brisbane and gold coast) and got the same fine as me. we both had open licenses at the time of the fines. lucky in qld i guess.
