hey guys i`v done a search but can`t find what i`m looking for?

i got a r33 gtst, i belive it fitted with a factory viscous lsd?

i would like to fit a factory mechanical lsd! (not aftermarket 1.5-2 way)

What it the diff that i need,(what car do i get it from)?

Will i need drive shaft too or still use mine?

should i be looking for a R200 diff?

Also any help on gear ratio`s would be great too

Thanks

factory diffs run a viscous lsd centre.

Fitting a mechanical centre only replaces the centre. The ratio is determined by the crown wheel and pinion of the diff. These are fitted / part of the existing diff, so once u install the new mechanical centre the ratio will be the same as it was before.

the only factory mechanical i think there is, is the r34 gtr? But i dont think you can simply drop these in. Someone with more knowledge will know.

99% of the time ppl with r33s willl drop in an aftermarket one (Nismo, Kaaz etc)

Drive shaft is still the same, as the diff housing is the std one u use (just the centre needs replacing)

r200 short nose is the diff type you have.

stick with the factory ratio you have 4.11

R200 i think (from vague memory) refers to the size of the crown wheel (ie 200mm - r200)

nope fer the gtr diff. The hubs are different that bolt to the axles.

Your best option for a mech diff is just looking at geting the nismo, or kaaz centre. There is a reason everyone uses them :thanks:

  • 1 year later...

How do I tell the difference between a R32 R180 and R200 LSD ???

I need one to replace my damged diff in my cefiro A31. It already had and R32 rear end though. The car was purchased with this and other upgrades.

I was told that the R33 and 300zx Twin Turbo R230 LSD cannot work.

Anyone with any advice ????

    • Plan on the day will be to park trackside. Depending on space availability we will try put a small shade tent and a few of the cars on top of the hill inside turn 3, this is an easy to get to parking area with views of Turn 2, Turn 3, Turn 4 and Turn 5 and limited other pieces of the view around the track. IMPORTANT NOTE! One consideration from previous years is from memory the trackside parking sells out before the admission tickets, for that reason I encourage anyone planning on coming to buy tickets for parking now via the official website; https://www.worldtimeattack.com/ The type of parking you are looking for is 2 Day Park & View (Access Around Venue) Vehicle Pass Only Please note this does not include admission to the event itself, remember to grab that also, and kids under 12 get in for free!
