Mine locks its self at different times, sometimes when you turn the ignition on, sometimes when i close the door with the keys in the ignition, some times not at all, its a pain in the arse but i just know not to close the door with the engine running.

this almost happend to me! so it does actually happen lol. my passenger door auto locks when you go over about 30 kmh but not the drivers :P

In Japan the driver has to know karate to fend off thevies.

The most common cause for a car locking when you close the door is the aftermarket doorlock motor comes out of adjustment and will lock when the door is jarred. get the installer to pop the door trim off and check the adjustment. Don't know about the beeping. This problem can come and go and be confusing but is the most likely problem.

My wifes car locked us out years ago, the alarm armed while the car was running and I was horrified as a highly experienced auto elec and accessory fitter to have to resort to smashing a hole in the cheapest window (windscreen) with the only tool i could find..... a brick from the building site my missus was heavily pregnant and crying as i gave it all i had to smash the extremely tough window!!

I learnt my lesson.......... Was leaving home at 4am to go to work, decided i'd give the car a quick hose off while she warms up, go to hop in and bingo! the doors locked car running. Had only had the car 2 days at the time, so i had no spare key yet and no spare remote. so i had to break in using the old wire trick. Didn't i feel stupid
