Hi,

I have a Stock R34 GT-R and I put 20L of Caltex Vortex Premium by accident (which has a octane rating of 95) when I should have filled with Vortex Premium 98. This happened because there was no Shell V-Power left at the Shell servo so I decided to use Caltex for the first time and I thought Vortex Premuim was their 98 octane rating fuel.

So my question is this, do I have to empty the fuel tank of all the current fuel ASAP to avoid damage or can I get away with using this fuel (not driving hard) until it runs out and then fill up with the 98 octane rating fuel.

Thanks,

Glen

I could have easily made the same mistake. Didn't even realised there were two 'vortex's....

Should be ok. Just drive "sensibly". How much fuel was in the tank before you stuck the "good stuff" in? Maybe shove another $20 of 98 in on top of it.

But really, drive sensibly, minimise "boost" situations, and all should be ok.

Thanks guys for all your help. Really appreciate it.

Yeah the fuel needle was right down sitting flush with the empty line when I fueled up... but yeah im going to just baby it until its practically empty then fill up with the correct fuel.

Thanks again.
