Spotted a Nice Black Galant VR4 with VR4 EVO rego tonight in seaford, I had one just like it in USA .. too bad it fell apart cause it drove nice for the month it stay running in 3 yrs..lol

it went great in the snow. and looked cool

Is that the same one Kye?

thats the one

his is a limited edition monty carlo race spec vr4. the car comes standard with evo sized turbo, 550cc injectors and more

such a tuff car

that one looks better with the black wheels, mine had BBS in silver. had to imported a new Evo engine to put in it from japan. the original one blew up just off idle , broke a balance shaft and it gutted the block out. then the turbo blew up a few weeks after the new motor went in.after the car sat for 3 months waiting for them to find a EVO engine for it and the lack of parts back them i just sold it off. wish i had it now.lol think i sold it for about 7k USD a few yars back.. the cars are very limited edition in usa... only made the black ones for 1 yr the other ones are forest green, white all have black leather and all the goodies of a Evo under it, mine was number 230 out of 2000 had ever option but sunroof. the all wheel drive worked awesome on ice and snow, floor it off the light and it just took off like a normal road with a tiny bit of crab on the road crown. not much else could touch it in snow, even wrx didnt work as good.on dry roads its kinda wonky and doesnt like high speed, floats around alot about 120mph on the track of course. cornering was the same a bit vaugue on dry roads with 4wheel steering.

but looks hot

spotted what i thought was kye out in his new drifter s13 midnight blue, upon staring and closer inspection it was show it was a certain toyota loving fool that cant seem to stop crawling back to nissans. and damn that midnight blue is so not rare these days, everyone else respray another colour plz so only i remain :(

and you wonder why mitsubishi are going broke???

Spotted DSTROY on south road where it changes from 70-80km/h and then cruiised with ya up panalatinga for a bit on sunday night after the BSM cruise.

Car looks, sounds, and drives tough :(

i was in the grey 32 with 32 GTR rims on it

Actually it's only the car manufacturing side of Mitsubishi that have been doing it tough - in Japan they make everything from elevators, to pens, to helicopters, to oil tankers...

Sorry, back on topic :(

    • Yes, but no. You need to keep the mating surfaces bare (ie the flat faces where the caliper and upright pads touch the dogbone) and also the internal threads will remain bare (unless there are no internal threads - do they use nuts on all the bolts?). So you can slow down obvious external corrosion, but not all of it. Anodising would be required to provide decent protection to the alloy, but I'm not actually sure if you should anodise something that is all about the strength. Anodising does reduce strength significantly. Like, up to 50% on some alloys for high thickness coating.
    • Thanks   does painting on aluminium work or stop them from corroding?
    • 'Sgot nothing to do with them being Japanese. The climate in the north of Japan has similarities to the UK - the cars are made in the knowledge that they have snow and salt, and they rot there. Cars made in the US rot like buggery in the US. British cars have always rotted regardless of the weather. They will rot indoors in a climate controlled bubble! The brackets are not unsafe yet, but they will get that way. They may well corrode where the bolt threads are in contact and the bolts could just jump out without warning.
    • So unsafe would you say now?   little bit of has come off, guess road salt is a nightmare for Japanese car. Mx5 here have a well known issue or rotting
    • Dissimilar metal corrosion. Aluminium is less noble than steel/iron, and will corrode preferentially when in contact with it and a conductive solution (ie, wet road salt). Tends to suggest that those brackets should be made in steel for a shitty climate like the UK.
