Hi all,

I should be back in the Skyline game this saturday . Flying down to melb to pick up my new series 2 R33 so I cant bloody wait.

It doesn't currently have a FMIC and I'll want one pretty soon so wondering where to get it done and also what brand I should buy. I dont have endless amounts of money but still want a nice fitting and a nice flowing cooler.

I should be on here alot more now

I've got a Hybrid GT Spec, bought off eBay. Not too expensive and a really nice fit behind the S2 front bar.

I had Ed at Autotech install mine.

Sorry about the size of the picture, only decent one i've got right now.

So what happened?? Your [if he was rich You'd be in a GTR] uncle die and leave you his stamp collection? or did your gf get preggie and you've spent the baby bonus?

Glad to see your back, come to the dyno day??

And I can't help, sorry, I've got a blitz fmic, and you don't wanna buy one of them.

I have a JJR kit on mine. The piping sucks and didn't fit properly, and the kit does require a lot of cutting to fit. I ended up having to get half the piping custom made. You'd be better off shelling out a bit more for a better brand that fits properly first time, every time. I wish I had, would've ended up costing less.

The core itself seems fine, I haven't had any issues with it. That said, I'm still only running standard boost.

Thanks for the comments guys :whistling:. I might have to spend a little more and get something that will fit, I dont want any stuffing around. I haven't seen what the dyno dates are yet but my car isn't anything like my last one, so it will only be putting out standard numbers besides what a turbo back exhaust will do to enhance the power.

Yeah this one is for good Luke! It'll be a while before I take her to the track though lol....anything new with your beast? Have you done anymore track days??

Everyone still doing friday nights?

Hey Stevo welcome back,

Good to see you back in the Skyline game (even if it is only an R33). :D

JJR coolers are fine if youre not looking to make huge HP, I use one on mine and it flows great...

With any front mount youre going to have to do some modifying.

For a good all round bolt on kit though, you cant go past the Blitz kits, they're really high quality and bolt on, but they're not cheap.

If you need a hand with anything on your new ride, you know that Luke and I are happy to help mate.

Cheers

Mick

Thanks Mick!

Well there might be few beers coming your way coz I'm thinking of buying a pod today and will try fit it but not sure how well ill do. Speaking of pods, are the K'n'N pods good enough and will I need a bracket to bolt it on or??

Stevo - K&N pods are some of the best you can buy, but you will need to make up a bracket to fix it to the car, for rego.

I fitted the K&N pod and it works a treat. Its awesome to have that sound when im driving again.

Also, My mate was quoted $850 for a trust cooler supplied and fitted. Now I didnt hear this in person my self but does this sound to good to be true? Do you think my friend heard wrong? Other places I talked to before visiting the above quote said they charge $500 for just fitting and one place said they charge $150 just to remove the front bar (LOL).

What ya think?

I'll tell you what Stevo, you buy the cooler kit and I will fit it (with some mates help) for a case of beer (good beer - none of that VB crap) :D

Does that sound like a fair deal?

Your a champion Mick. Name the beer and its yours!!

What kit would you suggest? Would the just jap be too much hasstle to fit or you guys dont care? I can spend more then just jap but would prefer cheaper, need money for text books lol.

And I can't help, sorry, I've got a blitz fmic, and you don't wanna buy one of them.

What I meant was that they are expensiveish compared to the JJR's etc. But they do fit nice.

Why don't you try looking for a s/h one from the jap auctions etc

I can recommend a couple of places, and there are some on this forum. A FMIC doesn't exactly wear out, and you might turn a $1000+ buy into a sub $K with a bit of patience and some hunting around. They are junking skylines all the time in Japan.

Also, the Aussie distributor of Blitz has recently changed hands, so they are hard to get hold of (not much in stock in the country ATM, one place saying 4 weeks before they could even ORDER it, never mind shipping time). And I guess as a result, all the local prices seem to have magically 'reset' themselves back up to very near original RRP cos there's no haggling power for the customer :) I just bought one and because I'm in a rush, I paid a fair bit :| I like new stuff, and there was only $150 to save in buying from one of the SAU traders that imports from Japan. If you can find one in good nick and with all parts from Japan for cheap, GRAB it.
