hi guys I have just put 80mm AFM's on my rb26 and wana know how u get away with fitting the pods? I know most GTR after market pod kits are to suite the standard AFM's just wondering if I purchased say 2 x apexi pods to suite an R32 GTS-T they come with the adapter for the 80mm AFM's would these pods fit in the engine bay connected straight off the AFM's? has anyone got a set up like this? or if you have any sugestions to get around this plz let me kno.....

Cheers

regular apexi pods will bolt straight onto Z32 AFMS I think. 90% sure on that. though it may not have them positioned in the right spot.

yeh mate they do bolt up, but as u said not sure how well they will sit in the engine bay conected straight off the afm's

Hi mate can u elaborate a bit mre on that? Is greenline a SAU sponcer, do they have a website, phone number? cheers

Same as Nengun, Greenline and other places... Jap on-line parts suppliers.

Dare i say a search will give you the full details?

And yeah, just get the adaptors... pretty common for people that get the Z32 without realising there is a Nismo option that is bolt-on.

i just used a 3 inch 45 and 90 deg mandrel bends between the the stock ruber hose and AFM's and bolt the apexi filters straght up to the AFM's. had to lengthen the wires for the AFM's though. alot cheaper then buying the apex kits.

hi jake

the easiest true bolt on form is the apexi 80mm super suction kit

its about $500 AUD ish from www.nengun.com and will be around 1 month delivery ETA ish

the kit will include a pair of turbo to AFM ducts to suit the 80mm AFM and bolt pattern

it should also come with clamps and fasteners and a pair of 80mm apexi pod filters

check the list of items in the pack on the nengun site but it should be a true bolt on kit

The Super Suction kit from APEXi reduces the suction resistance from the air filter to the turbocharger. This suction reduction also maximize turbine efficiency 100% and from the filter intake is maximized with optimum piping diameter & smooth & tapered curves. This design increases the air intake breathing capabilities dramatically. In addition, the aluminium molded piping will not deformed at high boost levels (where a huge air vacuum occured inside the air intake piping) as compared to the stock rubber intake piping. In addition to stock air flow meter set, corresponding larger air flow meter sets of varying diameters (90mm, 80mm) are available in conjunction with varying aluminium intake piping in tuning for optimum engine performance.

mate I think ur right on the money! poor mans version of an apexi kit!

you can get the apexi filters cheap on ebay for like 90 each, thats what i did. spent about 40 bux on two mandrel bends and prob 20 on a couple of rubber joiners instead of silicon as they are not under pressure.

Mate I like ur idea alot...does it fit good? sounds heeps cheaper then the apexi kit.
