Part 2: Help Me Get My Car Started, Also Need Rb25 S2 Pin Layout 4 Afm

Recommended Posts

Ok so now my car is turning over and all primed, but its not starting. Im thinking that maby the AFM is wireed incorrectly as i had to hardwire the q45 when I had it on theere with the old utrbo setup and now that im going back to stock the rb25 one has to be hardwired too, so im thinking that maby I have the plugs mixed up.

Any other ideas on why this hunk o crappo isnt starting, I REALLY need it to be going, im talking life or death (ok well maby more like big chunk of cash or kick the crap outta my car)

Cheers

Ryan

OK compared it to a ,ates rb25 afm layout and its the same.

I slid the cas plug on and of and it fires a tiny bit and then just keeps turning over. Could my cas be on its way out?

I was also thinking maby my AFM is dead.

I know my coils are old but there is no reason they hsouldnt be firing.

I checked all connections and everything so if anybody could help me it would be much appreciated, c

heers

No ideas at all people? Im thinking my afm is dead as it hasnt been on the car in some time and everything else was on there and running the whole time, but if you have any other suggestions that would be awesome

I know you said you checked a mates, but the wiring is different on series 1 and 2 R33's - see below

Not sure what you've done but you cannot just do a straight swap. You need to modify the VQ table in the ECU to get the AFM working correctly (on the same scale)

Skyline (RB20, 25) R32 & R33 Series 1 & 300ZX (Z32) (Same, wire F not used) - 80mm

Wire A - Not Connected

Wire B - Signal

Wire C - 12v Ground

Wire D - Signal Ground

Wire E - 12v Power

Skyline (RB25) R33 Series 2 - 80mm

White with Blue Trace - Ground

Orange with Black Trace- Signal

Black with White Trace - 12v Power

Inifinity (Q45) - 90mm

Wire 1 (White) - Signal

Wire 2 (Black) - Ground

Wire 3 (White(or Red) & Black) - 12v Power

I was running a power fc with the q45 and I am now running the stock afm with the stock management. The q45 had to be hardwired as I ddint have the plug for the q45, and I dont have the stock plug so it needs to be hardwired again

What I actually needed was the sequence of the wiring e.g

Pod

pin1 = red

pin2 = bluw white

pin3 = orange/white

Turbo mouth

If you catch my drift

    • Hey guys I have a 2001 Nissan stagea vq25det, I don't have any engine lights and not really any issues running but I was curious to see if I could use my obd II scanner to find anything that was hidden and I plugged my scanner in and it just said "Low voltage cannot scan" does anyone know how to fix this or what this could be?
    • Sadly we have something in common, our Skyline's like blowing up electrically 馃槩
    • So, no videos, but, the FAB9 Elite manifold and 68mm Bosch throttle bodies are in stock, but, not the rear part of the air box The FAB9 rear airbox thingie is made with a 3" intake pipe, to suit the 3" intake pipe size of a 68mm throttle body  When they get some more in stock is currently unknown as I'm waiting for FAB9 to reply with a ETA on resupply, my assumption is they outsource their plastic printing stuff to "china", and with the current "tariff war" going on in 'Merica it could be on hold for an undisclosed time Should I pull the pin on the Intake and throttle body, and wait for the airbox?????, that's what I'm thinking... 1. Would the standard 2.75" OEM intake on the air box really be that much of a restriction compared to the 3" naturally aspirated?????? 2. If I don't get the 3" FAB9 airbox fitted at the same time as the intake and throttle body will it need a retune, when/if it eventually turns up?????? As I'm impulsive, to a fault, decisions will be made within....."what's the time now"???....let's say 12 hours......LOL
    • yeah its just so expensive nowadays and its easy to lose motivation very quickly when you start adding up the costs. I acquired the car from a collector in Melbourne and was lucky to get the opportunity to buy something already completed.  I looked at a proper resto and your paying over 300-400K for a proper one (nut and bolt) so this one to me seemed like a much better option! Car is in private storage and for serious buyers, welcome to come see it/drive it in person (photos don't do it justice).
