Problem:

My R32 GT-R developed a rattle this afternoon. Took me a while, but i've narrowed down the conditions required to make the noise.

Revs have to be over 2500.

Boost has to be in the few marks on the guage just before 0. As soon as you go into positive boost, the rattle stops.

If you back off the throttle completely, the noise stops.

This happens in all gears at all speeds.

Stock turbos etc.

Does anyone have any ideas on what the noise is likely to be?

Anyone in Melbourne who's near the CBD is welcome to come listen if you think you can figure it out..

Sounds very similar to the rattle I heard when my 32 GTR shat a big end. It starts as a small rattle and gets bigger from there, I could feel taping on the throttle to. Get it looked at by a professional workshop asap as if it is a big end and you don’t stop driving it asap the damage increases exponentially. Sorry for the doom and gloom but that was my experience with exactly what you are describing. I ignored mine stupidly for a week or so and ended up cracking the crank...

I'm planning to get it looked at this week (it's not a daily driver)..

Anyone in Melbourne have a recommendation on somewhere that does good work but doesn't charge mega $$.

I'm after getting it fixed, not producing huge HP.

Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post recommendations
