Basically im a P plater who has bought a R34 25GT. I bought a NA due to insurance/maintenance costs etc, but i would like to further down the line to hopefully convert it into a GTR, i have used the search bar and read sum detailed info bout GTR conversions. I jus want to know exactly how much all the mechanical/drivetrain parts would cost all togetha roughly. Even better, if anyone has done a full gtr conversion, how was the outcome? Was it worth it? I plan to keep my car for a long time so dats y i wuld be interested in converting it.

Thanx heaps in advance guys :)

it would be way to expencive to swap all the driveline parts and everything over and even after it was all swaped it would still not be a gtr or have the same set-up. Most people do engine conversions with the rb26 to rwd by getting an adapter plate made up.

Gtr's dont just have different driveline, they have different suspention, rear quarters, front fenders, front bar headlights bonnet, interia, speedo cluster, gauges, then the obvious engine trans and running gear, it would prob be cheaper to sell the gt and buy a gtr for the cost of changing everything over

there is absolutely no way concievably possible that you could convert an R34 GT to a GTR and come out ahead.

Sure you can jam a GTR engine into a GT, upgrade the ancillaries (everything from the fuel pump to the wiring loom) and have a car that makes the same power as a GTR... but you won't have the AWD (i'm assuming its not a GT Four) or the lightweight body, the up spec interior, etc that a GTR has.

enjoy your car for what it is, when you're ready to step up, sell it, and buy a GTR. R34 GTR's are goin for as low as 45,000 these days... by the time you're off your P's and used to driving a powerful car (not to mention legally able to), the price would've come down further.

^^ its much cheaper and easier converting a gts to a gtst, but going to a full blown gtr spec is just silly as mention above

Just drive the r34 as it is and enjoy how it is cheap to run and reliable, then when you've saved up your pennys and are old enough legally then get a gtr and watch your money disappear
