I did this last weekend. I've heard a lot of things about toothpaste, cut and polish, iguana sweat... i decided to try them all.

My observations follow:

Toothpaste

Toothpaste (Colgate Whitening toothpaste) works. Well it works better than nothing. I got my headlights looking visibly cleaner with toothpaste. Method used was to squirt a bit on in the middle and wipe in circular pattern all around the headlight.

Rating: 4/10

Mothers Cut and Polish

I didn't have any Meguirs or any special plastic cleaner, so after the toothpaste I tried some Mothers cutting stuff. I used pretty much the same method to apply it, squirt some on and rub it circular until it becomes a thin coating and starts working. Then with a clean soft cloth wipe off any residue. Results, the headlights look close to new with the lights off, turn the lights on and they still look a bit aged but they are 10 years old so what can I expect.

Rating 9/10.
