I'm not sure if you need an engineer's certificate (i'd say its likely) but you're going to have to do something about rego, seeing as the engine no. is different.

Call the RTA/Ministry of Transport and ask around. I'd make sure, just to save possible future stresses.

Good luck mate.

il just be telling the cops that the r32 came out with a rb25 motor in it... which it does. so really....unless they wanna go and check numbers itl come across as my motor was in the car from factory.

oh yeh. the cops will then go.. oh ok. no worries.

on your way my good man.

if you don't want to pay for a mod plate, then at least make sure that the engine number of th enew engine is on your rego papers along with the receipt of the purchase of the engine.

then remove the coil pack cover that says 2500

so if you get pulled over, and the cops decide to do an engine number/rego check on you, at least it will all line up fine.

i'd be more worried about what your insurance company will do if it's not engineered with an RB25. Yellow sticker is nothing compared to writing off your 32 and someone elses benz and then your insurance company says "nup" when you make a claim.

If your in NSW you definately have to get an engineers certificate because the capacity increase lies outside an 'owner certified' modification. It cant be any more than 15 or 20% (i cant remember exactly) capacity increase.

The rb25det did not come out in the r32, it was the rb25de engine.

Make sure you get it engineered before you install an aftermarket ecu, or you'll be up for an emissions test too, and thats f**ked.

Im just going through this process with a single turboed rb26 in an r32 with Autronic ecu, and my car has been out of rego for 4 years! Talk about a nightmare!

Shaun.
