Your doors may not rub! the only place mine rubbs is at the front of the side skirt. ill take pics 2moro. It did rub at the rear but that was due to poor alignment.

I would personally try the doors before ur paint job if possible? My second door is not fully finished yet but it hasnt rubbed...maybe i just messed up the first one?

As i said ill get photos 2moro it may just be my skirts? i have JUN side skirts

If the door catches the side skirt, the adjustment is wrong in the up and down movement. Adjust the screw by tightening it or screw in to bring the door up. Then lock it off with the lock nut. One way to stop this ever needing adjusting would be to attach a flat piece of metal onto the mating faces of the adjuster srew. This would make flat metal to metal contact and not wear away after constant use.

that may be the obvious response how ever ANY adjustment of the height caused problems with the door latch.

I found it to be very touchy to adjust, 1/4 turn of the adjuster and the door wont close(or even close to it).

Ive got the drivers done btw it was ALOT easier than the passengers since id learnt a bit along the way. Took some photos of this side as well

Drivers isnt rubbing i dont think so the rubbing may be bad skirt alignment on the passengers side.

They would shake in high wind yeah...but it would be quite wanky if you were going to leave them up for a long period of time :D

When they are up you can still open them out from the side of the car a bit...hence why they CAN "shake"

So far the doors have been a smash hit with little boys! ive over heard comments like "WOW thats sick" "look mum" "is that the car off tv dad?"

Hi Guys it`s Terry the owner of lambodoorkits Ltd. Just thought I`d pop in and dispell some myths about the lambo doors. I have them fitted to our company show car R33 GTST Skyline. We use this car everyday, so know what it is like living with them. We searched long and hard to find an affordable kit, which was strong and easy to fit, as well as easy to live with. We found many kits that were inferior and had no bearings fitted to them and the shocks were very weak. The kit we settled for, as you see on the web site is the one we have now. The kit is a direct bolt on fitment and is made in Taiwan, not China where all the poor quality kits come from. To fit the kit, the door needs to be taped shut and a piece of carboard used under the door to keep the gap at the bottom. The wings then need removing and the old hinges removing. The new hinges just bolt straight on in the original holes. At this point you can release the tape off the door. The door then needs operating a few times and adjust with the allen key screws until your happy with the door shutting like factory. The inside of the wing needs a small half moon shape cutting out to allow for the extra width of the hinge. This operation has to be done with any Hinge on the market. That`s it, fit the wing and it`s done. The kit will need adjusting eventually, ours has been twice in 3 years. Not bad I think. The shocks are still original after 3 years although starting to get weak now. These can be easily replaced wih our 650lb upgrade. The doors when up in the air do wobble in high wind, but this is the same with LSD kits. This is inevitable with a large piece of metal in the air anchored to the thin piece of metal which is the door panel. We just don`t open them in high wind and you can get out normally anyway without lifting them up. This should also help if you get stoped by the local fun police, by getting out the car normally. I know and anyone with common sense knows that this type of modification is a love it or hate it Modification and we should respect their views on this. personally I love it. The looks we get at shows and during normal out and about shopping etc is great. They aren`t looks of disgust either, they are looks of Awe! Not very often you see Skylines with lambo doors.

Think I have gone on enough, feel free to ask questions.

I used to belive that Australians are all good and friendly people, but when u are saying "kit is a direct bolt on fitment and is made in Taiwan, not China where all the poor quality kits come from" I think its time for me to chang my mind.

Please have a look around you, most of your clothes are made in China, your computer is made in China, your kitchenwares are made in China, even the keyboard your are using to debate is made in China !!!!!! So, if you really think Chinese only make "poor quality" stuffs, I think you'd better stop using them right now and it must be good for you, right? :P

By the way, Taiwan is a part of China !!!!!! They are not different countries !!!!!! I guess everyone who can read newspaper definitely knows that~~~

ummm.....dude and the point of your post was what? are you trying to increase the size of your penis or your ego??

I couldnt give a toss if the kit was made in china, taiwan or by terrys grandmother. Its a GREAT quality kit, fits well, clean cuts, solid construction. Comes at a reasonable price. Has excellent after sale service and results speak for them self!(see above pictures)

Oh and just btw.... the company website is lambodoorkits.co.uk i think you'll find terry is from the UK not australia so maybe read up a lil before you look for things to whine about.

Wow, what a random post. Here is my answer to this one.

If you actually read what I said, it says that we disguarded the kits that were made in China as they were not good enough quality wise and inferior to the Taiwanese made kits. We did not say everything made in China was rubbish. We import a lot of products from China and I have many contacts, which are now friends from China. I only said that these particular products were not up to the job. So to say "Chinese only make poor quality Stuffs" is something you have made up. Yes I am from The United Kingdom not Australia, all though I would like to move out there. Anyone want to give me somewhere to live. Oh and my wife and Kids?

All the Best Terry

And Hello to my Friends in China if you stumble accross this thread.

you say china makes bad quality kits china has many provinces you just need to find the right manufacturer from the range of provinces

we had one kit we fitted to a rx7 and that kit was a poorly setup with no guide stoppers and poor design of strut and from installing that we learnt that more features had to be suited for this to perform better. we regurally visit the china trade shows and on our next visit we were able to find a better supplier/manufacturer for these lambo doors. we used this manufacturers setup and it worked out much better than the previous china setup

its not a case of china is bad its a matter of having contacts and be willing to put the effort out so that we can find the better product

my 2 cents

cheers

andrew
