hi people,i opened a thread on this topic last time but had no luck,i have a manual boost controller and a gauge to go in (yes i have read forums on what can be bad about the manual controllers etc) but could someone please guide me in right direction on where to install controller and gauge,we have had no luck,a mate of mine who rebuilds his own cars from the shell up couldnt even figure it out,at one stage the gauge told me it wasnt even a turbo, even if u dont have a controller/gauge,can you please post some pics of where to install the hoses for each, thanks heaps in advance, for the person who guides me right there could be a carton in it for it....... :D:/

You should post up in forced induction performance - that way other RB engine owners who dont drive stageas will see it. Better chance of having a detailed reply.

Also, in the forced induction performance area, do a search for "boost T install" etc and i guarantee someone has written a DIY - i know cos ive seen it.

After recently undertaking both of these tasks recently as a nube I can offer some help.

Boost controller replaces the stock boost solenoid, which is basically under the edge of the stock airbox next to the left front strut tower. It's a real bitch to get at with the airbox still in.

Boost gauge you can plumb into the small nipple on the back of the plenum.

thanks for that, does it matter i have a fmic and pod filter,as since i had the fmic put in i cant seem to find the boost solenoid....so the controller goes from that to the actuator?what is the red circle for?cheers

that picture is an R33 engine bay, so it has a hose running off that nipple to the electronic unit (circled) for the boost gauge in the factory cluster.

the stagea however doesn't have that, so the nipple is plugged, simply remove the plug and run your boost gauge off that.

the boost controller needs to be inline, between the turbo actuator, and a intake pipe pressure feed, which will likely run off your intercooler piping.

i'll take some pictures tonight, as kylies has a fmic/pod/boost controller, otherwise i can give you a hand if you need it. :P

cool, thanks for that, yeah i put the boost gauge line to that nipple and the most it showed at only one time was half bar,yet we installed the boost controller between actuator and nipple off factory fmic piping i still had installed, yet my mods are the fmic and exhaust so i would have thought with the mods and controller tuned by test driving it would be more than half bar...gauge maybe?? just a cheap matrix it is,thanks for info
